I don't think Hollins will be making the Patriots Great again.
You can bet your ass he's gonna. Yuuuooooge.

He's probably going to be a 300-400 yard guy, nothing spectacular, but he's going to plow the road for Henderson out of the backfield on wheel routes and screens. He'll also be destroying guys on STs. You know, football player stuff, not princessey WR diva *****-ass plays that you cultists covet.

Hollins in the benchmark

trust me on this guys, ive said it before before the discussions begin

Polk and Baker are on a 2025 Revenge tour.
All joking aside it couldn't have gone any worse for those two last year. I am willing to give them some time early into this season as I hate to see more wide receivers cast upon the scrap pile of failure but if they aint showing something early in the season its just time to move on.

I would hedge my bets on Javon Baker he has talent hoping he gets' the mental part down.

If Mack is making the team then there may not be room for them. Going to be an interesting competition and even then we're still just talking about WRs 4 and/or 5. I think any number of guys can win those spots. Can any of them push for top 3 spots? Not that I still have the same expectations but when you take a guy 38 you're expecting him to compete for top spots.

For me I think Hollins is probably better than most of those guys right now but other than blocking not really going to be a top 3 guy. The question will be is anyone below him more capable of that in the next year or 2?

Hollins also does well in the red zone and is a good ST guy. It will be very interesting to see how this shakes out. I also put Bourne above both Polk/Baker right now, not sure about Boutte. What about Chism? So far so good for him, don't think you could stash him away on the practice squad.

He's tall and he did have decent TD production last year but calling him a red zone threat is a stretch. Polk has a better per year TD average as crazy as that sounds lol.

@signbabybrady You said the question for you will be if anyone below him more capable of that in the next year or 2. I see Hollins filling a special role with the team this year that he is better than the rest of the wide receivers at and thats being a strong willing blocker. I really think he will be used often to spring guys like Henderson, Williams, Douglas and maybe Chism.

I didn't call him a threat I said he does well. As for Polk having a better TD per year average, I don't think I'm tracking. His average is 0 right now. In fact Hollins has been more productive in every year of his NFL career than Polk and Baker combined in their one lone horrendous season.

Edit......I was wrong, Polk with two last year. However, Hollins missed 2019 so in 7 seasons he has 15 so still above Polks average but not by much.

Polk had 2 TD’s last year.

Onwenu getting a bag and then basically living like a retired truck driver ever since is a serious problem. How is that going to play with Vrabel’s “culture”?

Whoops my math was wrong I thought Hollins played 8 years but it's only 7.

I could see Vrabel really wanting to utilize Stevenson and Henderson a lot this year to set the pace. The OL is much improved this year on paper. The WRs are better but still need to grow and improve themselves - whether they are rookies or sophomores, or Diggs coming back from injury. Being a strong rushing team will help soften things for those receivers. Helps that the TEs are pretty good too.
Yes sir. There's also another huge benefit:
unblocking is easier than passblocking and when ol starts pushing around a defense unblocking, they start feeling good about themselves and work better as a unit. That is important when you have so many new ol.
It sounds funny but it's absolutely true- when an ol starts having some success runblocking, it makes them better at passblocking.
You can't do play action if you can't run the ball.
It opens up the offense and allows Josh to get more creative.
And of course, takes some pressure off Maye so he doesn't have to play hero ball and throw picks.
Will be fun to watch how this offense develops.
