Have you watched the team the last three years? That’s their prime play at the end of every half, quarter, and especially do-or-die.

Not really... it's actually Tatum at the top of the key playing "iso ball" and launching a 3. This was just a straight drive into 3 guys. He had to see that was set up before he took off.

If they lose the series there is one main conclusion to me: Joe’s gotta go. That’s not to take heat off the players but he has been bad.

If there’s one thing I would hold against Mazzulla, it’s that.

As a fan.. I would like to see Joe utilizing his bench more.. especially with porzingas limited and Sam out. This is how rookies and unproven players gain the experience and trust is during the post season. Schierman isn't good enough to play spot minutes? Qata isn't good enough to play here and there? Joe relied on these guys during the season and even down the stretch. I think Joe is a good coach, but sometimes coaches can out think themselves.. OKC, Pacers, cavs they play thier bench guys. Joe is going to have to switch it up or this thing is done in 4. My thoughts and opinions.

JM is a good coach. All coaches (even legendary ones) sometimes can out smart themselves.. sometimes the Hackarama has to stop.. putting the team in the penalty late in games giving NY free points. The Cs know they are the better team going up double digits in both games. Play schimerman and Quata in spot minutes. You relied on them a month ago now they suddenly aren't worth playing time. If they continue with the same ol same.. we'll be talking about the offseason Monday night.

To me they qere very overconfident and the knicks are very hungry and motivated. The celtics swept the knicks in the regular season. Useing a football saying the cletics felt all they had to do was throw their hats on the court and they would win.

C's had them down both games big. The C's have themselves to blame. Right now guy's just can't hit shots that they routinely made all season. So.. they loose tomorrow the season is over early this year.

I’d like him as HC if he got his head out of his ass and learned to draw up plays in key moments and make necessary adjustments.

But Mazzula may not be capable of that. He is incredibly stubborn.

Or his players are tuning him out a la Fitch in the 80s. Could be any number of things, the sale of the team, the upcoming breakup of the roster etc etc. Funny part is, Wyc and the gang voted for this asinine CBA that is ****ing them right now. Dumbasses.

I think that is the most likely reason.

Celtics are shooting 25% on 3s. 25%.

Jayson Tatum is 12/42 thru two games.

Jaylen Brown is 15/43 thru two games.

Combined that’s 27/85. 31.7% shooting.

Find me a coach who is winning playoff games with the whole team ice cold, and 2 team leaders even colder.

Sounds a lot like the “Fire Joe” chant from January when the team inexplicably couldn’t make shots for six weeks.

The lack of subs is mainly due to the Knicks playing their starters so many minutes. I don’t know if I fully agree with Joe’s matching players over changing pace, but it’s not like he’s doing anything crazy.

The best thing they can do is stay the course. Their shots will even out…just hope it isn’t too late and the slump ends soon.

Except on their moronic last second play calls. This has been a chronic issue. I know some of you hate to admit it, but this is largely on Tatum. He runs the clock down to iso last-shot levels on purpose, so there’s nothing left to to, often draws the double or tight defense, makes a foolish face like he can’t believe he’s trapped because he wants to pass the ball, then throws up some prayer. If they just ran the damn offense and found the open man by creating mismatches like they usually do, and swing the ball around, they’d find the same quality shots that are always available, except it may not be from one of their All NBA players. That’s a tradeoff that Tatum has been often unwilling to take, despite having an incredible array of capable teammates.

I don’t love Joe or hate Joe. I’ve seen a lot of Celtics games with these players and he really doesn’t effect the game that much, nor does any coach.

Agree with most of the post but this is such a huge issue. Because it isn’t just the last shot, it’s all late game execution. And these games are going to be tight. Celtics are gonna have to win some of them

With the more physical play allowed during the playoffs, a soft team cannot compete, and the coach is a a one-trick pony whose trick - just toss up threes and hope the numbers work - blows. He's either too lazy to do the actual work of adjusting to changing game circumstances or he lacks the insight to accomplish that part of his job. Or both.
