Talib (divided/average)

I did not care for him and his play could be great at points and bad at others.

Lawrence "Koolaid" Maroney.

Chad Jackson could not spell cat already having the c and t.

Ocho Sinco knew where to line up at Dunkin, but not in a Super Bowl.

'Qib man, you couldn't understand a word the guy said but it was fun to hear him talk

Max Lane (average/divided). I don’t fault him as much for SB 31 he was set up to fail.

It was embarrassing. Not having Gash in there to chip him or Coates or....just at least have given Drew a half second more to make a better throw.

I’ve seen this done for other teams on Twitter, but not the Patriots so throwing this out there. These aren’t the only names for each category but I’ll start.

Loved by fans:
Brady (great)
Law Firm (average)
Cam in 2020 (bad).

Fans were divided on these guys:
Bledsoe (great)
Myles Bryant (average)
Canty (bad).

Hated by fans:
***ante (great)
Juju (average)
Cassius Marsh (bad).
Some Honorable mentions.. aqib talib, chandler Jones, Brandon merriwether, Brandon spikes, Lee bodden, Andre Carter, Mark Anderson... where would you slot those guys?

Interesting topic.

So many beloved lunch pail guys.

Bru - forever walks on water in the eyes of Patriots Nation
Mosi - he had freakishly small feet and never fumbled, except in the playoffs against Denver.
BJGE (aka the Law Firm) - a no frills bell cow.
Steve Nelson - #57 heart and soul of the defense for years
Ben Coates - Mr. reliable on 3rd and long with defenders draped all over him
Kevin Faulk - another 3rd down stud - took some big hits in his career

Rodney - Loved/great
Mac - HATED/WOAT

OT but for the Sox:

Papi, Pedey, Koji, Vaughn (loved/great)
Manny (divided/great). Had Manny in the loved category but maybe he fits better here. Manny being Manny wasn't for everyone.
Bellhorn, Trot (loved/average)
Schilling, Pap, Price (divided/great). Schill was loved playing in Boston, not so much in recent years
Everett, Clemens (hated/great)
Damon (hated after he left, great-ish)
Panda, Cordero (hated/bad)
Bobby Valentine - not a player but an easy hated/bad. Lol

Talib - good-ish/divided. Knack for getting KO'ed out of games where he's needed badly
Chandler - great/loved
Merri, Spikes - average/divided
Bodden - good/divided? Best of a subpar group in the secondary at least.
Carter, Anderson - good/loved I guess? Wish we found a way to keep them.

Rodney - Loved/great
Mac - HATED/WOAT
Agreed 100% on Rodney. Hope he gets into the HOF soon.
Mac's rookie season was a totally different category than afterwards - definitely way less likeable.

Good categories. I think Anderson was a flash in the pan and Carter was an older player is why it wasn't a long term thing.. definitely on talib... that's why we didn't extend him becuase he wasn't durable and tapped out of big games.. suddenly he became an all pro In Denver. Spikes that knee injury hampered his career.. merriweheather.. never seen a SS celebrate so much after a 25 yards gain.. bodden was good while here.. knee injuries derailed him as well chandler was awesome.. If not for a shirtless and shoeless visit to Foxboro PD.. he probably would have stayed here...

Didn’t Whigham receive 2 AFC first team all pro nods as special teams ace? Also voted Patriots all 1990’s team. Surely that’s not average?

Whig is my favorite player... when i rate guys its more on a "starter/not starter" level... yes he was a stand out special teams player, but was a slightly above average DB...

If Larry Whigham ever took a bad angle on a play, I never saw it.

Loved:
Slate as ST all-pro and future red jacket wearer.

Hated:
Slate as a WR.

I didn't hate many. Assante, the smurf that gave up the TD to Plexiglass in the SB. Shawn Springs and Adalius Thomas in that 2009 team. There were very few that made me yell at the TV to STFU like Springs and Thomas.

You guys are talking about an un-relatable time in patriots history.. where I was more concerned with trying to get her bra off then what the team was doing in early 90s.. LOL..
