When that 20+ point lead started slipping to closer to 10-12, was really disappointing he didn’t take a timeout to regroup and let the Knicks pause. They were clearly frazzled and “playing through” was not the moveI blame this on Mazzulla. No adjustment when things stated to go downhill. Static basketball. Just look at the movement by both teams in the Denver - OKC game.
Cleveland and OKC lost too. I’ll try not to lose my mind. I just hate the ****ing Knicks. And the broadcasters making this seem like Miracle On Ice.
Right. It's not uncommon for the "rested" team to lose G1.Cleveland and OKC lost too. I’ll try not to lose my mind. I just hate the ****ing Knicks. And the broadcasters making this seem like Miracle On Ice.
Hauser sprained his ankle when he fouled Anunoby on his 3-point attempt late in the 3rd, left for the locker room and didn’t return. Fair point on the other stuff though. I was baffled that Pritchard didn’t play much toward the end especially when the Knicks were rallying back and the Celtics’ shots weren’t hitting. Needed a spark from the bench and Pritchard is the best in the league in that role. Tatum looked off and I was screaming at my TV for them to give White the last shot at the end of the 4th.All those issues that haven’t been resolved with pecking order and laughable last shot scenarios. They matter in these types of games. There’s 0.6 seconds left and your best 3 point shooter is on the bench (Hauser) and your second best, and most clutch, 3 point shooter, is inbounding the ball. Horford is on the far side of the court with an impossible lob 3 because he’s too slow to wind that up.
Surprise, surprise…the play was for Tatum to take a triple clutch, reverse fadeaway over two guys.
OT…Brown (1/10) is the guy who gets the call. White again the inbounder. Hauser on the bench.
Pritchard, their quickest guy, best defender shaker, best last second shot guy, third best 3 point shooter, also on bench.
The Celtics have a pecking order of seniority and star power for their most critical plays which trumps matchups and probability.
60.. 3s put up... we had the Knicks on the ropes, KP mysteriously gets sick, so many odd things are happening this post season... with Hauser sidelined why didn't we see Scheirerman???.. please help me to understand??..Tatum really needs to stop being a hero every time he touches the ball.
We had them on the ropes and down for the count.. we gave the game away the Knicks didn't take it.. seems like a familiar thing... saying..hopefully KP is good to go.. why didn't we see Shciemerman?? Once hauser went out.Right. It's not uncommon for the "rested" team to lose G1.
They'll fix the brain fart and the 3pt shooting. The Knicks are not that good defensively
Hopefully KP and Hauser are good to go for Wed
Had an illness the end of the season as well missed 8 games... seems like he's had an illness his entre career. I'd like to see JM tap some of his bench guys more.. why dress them if your not going to play them.Illness, ugh
Agreed on Pritchard. I think some of the other stuff we’re talking about here is a little overstated, when shots aren’t dropping everything else looks terrible. They hit just a couple of those shots each quarter and it’s a double digit victory and we’re not talking about any of this. Health remains key.I was baffled that Pritchard didn’t play much toward the end especially when the Knicks were rallying back and the Celtics’ shots weren’t hitting. Shots were forced up unnecessary when they had a sizable lead.. NYK were demoralized at that time.. we gave the game away. I thought we'd had learned something from the magic series.Agreed on Pritchard. I think it was mostly just bad shooting, they had good looks. But I do agree there were a couple of instances where they rushed things unnecessarily and lost their composure a little bit. I’m thinking of one Holiday three after an offensive rebound as an example of that, hoisted it up when there was no reason to rushShots were forced up unnecessary when they had a sizable lead.. Yes. It drove me crazy watching them brick and the Knicks get those long rebounds. They like to run and get to the rim. Even with big games from Brunson and OG we had them down big..I think it was mostly just bad shooting, they had good looks. 45 missed 3s, KP out, Hauser hurt, dreadful games from JB and (especially) JT. Still went to OT. Celtics should win this series so easily but being down 1-0 is always bad.Right. It's not uncommon for the "rested" team to lose G1.

It’s truly incredible how they always end up with a dogshit fadeaway from Tatum or Brown whenever there’s a last shot, even after a timeout.I was screaming at my TV for them to give White the last shot at the end of the 4th.
