Are there veterans who don't fit in as part of the future?

I've wondered this too. How much of a fit Pop is for the offense Josh wants to run. Diggs and Chism are a couple of options for the slot role if Pop is moved.
It wasn't for Josh but Pop did well in BoBs version of the EP. At a minimum it gives him a little headstart learning Josh's. Pop is the least of my worries. Not sure how much more he will grow but his floor already makes him our 2nd best WR until/if someone else passes.

josh might actually expect him to run good routes, and the right routes, though

On his podcast the other day, Phil Perry said that he had a conversation with Josh McDaniels during last season when he was not employed and McDaniels told him the Pats should be featuring Pop Douglas more. FWIW. I think he fits for Josh.

Indeed. If Bourne and Douglas are on the bubble, you have very good wide receivers (or terrible judgement).

Rham could be a surprise departure, leaving Gibson, Henderson, and Larison as the RB roster.

I think it’s most likely he stays but I would not be shocked if he’s not on team when the season opens.
If some other team loses their primary RB in camp or pre season I wouldnt mind them trading him.

Landry is pretty good vs the run. Jennings and Booty Became my binkies after they were drafted and I am really pulling for them but understand that with as much competition there is now in camp will make the overall talent better. I have resigned myself to accept them not making the team if they are unable to take the next step.
Jennings is top run defender in the league guys who can play the run and set the edge will always have a place on a team.. Jennings I feel is safe.. if nothing else he'll be in the rotation.. we need to ensure depth is up to parr.. our depth was pathetic last season.

I thought Bentley was safe. If it were up to me, I'd choose him over Jennings.

Rham is under contract as he just got a new one last season.. we need.. a bell cow, tough yards, type of back. Now if Rham still continues with the fumbles than all bets are off.

Jennings is younger. Bentley has a history of injuries and older. He was expendable. Jennings is one of best edge defenders in the game. His game could crown under Vrabel.

"Bentley has a history of injuries and older." It is true that Bentley was drafted in 2018, not 2020, and he has missed two seasons on IR, in contrast with Jennings' one in 2021.

"Jennings is one of best edge defenders in the game." He certainly didn't show that last season.

Here's a weekend pick-me-up, after Bourne's $6MM in potential CAP savings, next up is Lowe at $3MM. All these other vets are sub-$2M potential savings. Training camp will be a battle.

most likely. He'll be expensive.

Of course, we know how easy it is to sign a good starting OT.
Indeed. Made all the more difficult because they are rarely not retained by their current teams (especially the young ones). If Campbell pans out at LT (and I suspect that he will), maybe our RT of the future is either already on the team, or will be easier to acquire in the next 2 drafts.

Hell let’s not screw around.
Cut Drake Maye and save $17,500,000.
Cut Carlton Davis and save $22,800,00.
Cut Milton Williams and save $37,000,000.
Cut Christian Barmore and save $12,275,000.

I know everyone hates Tavai for calling out the fans but who's knocking him off the roster? Gibbens, Spillane, and Ellis?
Couldn’t give less of a **** what he thinks of or says to the fans. I just am not sure he’s the type of ILB that Vrabel has used in the past. He’s typically gone with smaller quicker ILbs. Just my opinion here.

I've been hearing a lot about UDFA WR Efton Chism III. He's basically a carbon copy of Edleman (and inch shorter but almost the same weight), only he played all of his college snaps at WR. He's also supposed to be a dangerous PR and solid ST player. He's described as catching pretty much everything thrown his way and has excellent YAC and just runs great routes, consistently gets separation, and has an extensive route tree even though he's mostly played in the slot.

Bourne called the Patriots organization dysfunctional only to re-sign soon after. Before that, I think he was also the one complaining about the offense Patricia was running as well.

That’s called telling the truth, not entitlement. Who in their right mind wouldn’t have complained about Patricia’s offense, the playbook was done in crayon.
