Kraft isn’t immune from his own “sad old man” moments. Orchids, botching the Brady saga, keeping Bill too long with no real succession plan, and most damningly…the Jerod Mayo experiment where he admittedly chose the next leader of an $8B franchise based upon seeing a guy pull together an informal meeting in a hotel during a trip to Isreal 5 years ago.

Something probably ANY member of this board with even a little leadership experience could have done.

That said, Kraft at least seems to have searched himself and course-corrected.

Not sure Bill has that in him anymore.

This feels headed for a sad, loud, and pathetic ending to a LEGENDARY career.

At the end of the day, something seems kind of unwell with him as a person now. I don't know the guy personally obviously, but he helped orchestrate some of the more fun moments of my life through football and while some disagree with decisions he's made it's not like he's ever done anything evil to warrant hating him or wishing ill upon him. I hope it's not as unsettling as it appears and he's just awkward, but rather than use this as an opportunity to justify the football team firing him or debate if he was ever as good as it was thought, honestly I just wish the man well as a person and hope he's not going senile/being manipulated like it appears from the outside looking in.

It's important to understand that Bill O'Brien has a better program at BC in 2025. Bill O'Brien is a local guy, was a humble and good head coach at Penn State following Joe Paterno's death and the scandal, and can really relate to college kids. O'Brien knows how ultra-competitive college football is and how tough it is to recruit and keep kids in the ACC.

Belichick is not even trying to come in with humility and respect for the program he is running following Mack Brown. It feels more like Rick Pitino coming to the Celtics than Mike Vrabel coming to New England. Vrabel is doing a splendid job honoring those who have come before him but recognizing that he has a big mountain to climb.

Belichick lost several kids interested in Carolina to the likes of Georgia Tech, NC State and Duke. UNC will not be in the Bowl Division playoffs and will be lucky to get a middling bowl game against some conference team that finished third or fourth in a power conference.

BOB has a hair trigger temper. He could not cut in the Pros.



The first words out of Belichicks mouth were "Beat Duke" I don't know who he is suppose to honor. UNC has never been a football power.

I would expect kids to transfer to UNC should BB have success. Which they can these days. Just about every team makes it to some kind of Bowl anymore. Its only year # 1 for BB and UNC. Same as Vrabel and NE.

Me too.

I think it would be too embarrassing and awkward for my children who (20 years from now when I am 73) will be 38, 40, and 42.

Since I currently have no plans on being a widower or divorced, can't really say what my mindset would be then.

I always thought I would, but now that I am approaching 60, I kinda doubt it. I don't think I'd let anyone get close, and I am not a wealthy celebrity desperately needing a socials make over.

Bill has this "win when everyone thinks we're out" love and approach to life. It explains why he was willing to gamble on Brady, it explains how he motivated his teams, it even explains why the guy penned that letter to Trump.

This is great in sports. However, it seems that is prevailing once again right now, and it's ****ing up his priorities. The issue with that philosophy, is you can quickly turn that into a self-fulfulling prophecy, where you fetishize the feeling you get by being unorthodox, and it feeds itself. I don't even think this has anything, at all, to do with a love for Jordan. It's a love for the circumstances.
