You're kidding! This skinny guy's gonna play center? I mean, I know they can't line up against him, but they'll crush him from an angle.

I once sat at a table next to coaches from a top P2 D1 football school. The kid they were recruiting was a stick. Really skinny. When they finished breakfast with him, I talked to someone I knew at their table and said, "They're recruiting a there?" He says to me, "They want him on the defensive line." I said, "He looks like he's 180 pounds." The reply, "Looks are deceiving, he weighs 205."

The kid in question ended up being an NFL 1st round draft pick on the DL.

Long snappers are never offensive linemen. In the NFL they're reliably LS-only specialists, but when they have secondary positions it's typically TE or LB.

Man I tell you what. I have not enjoyed a draft like this ever. A lot of fun and, most importantly, they really nailed it. Good job.

Good job to you guys. Thanks for making it fun to follow along this weekend. I can’t wait until they show up for the various camps.

In honor of Bill Belichick, we’ve decided to make TWO really stupid picks on day 3, with a bunch of good players STILL on the board, we pick safety Craig Woodson, who most likely would’ve been there in round 7, and then the dumbest pick of the draft (for ANY team), in round 7 we take a Long Snapper who we could’ve signed as an UDFA, and 4 picks later, Houston gets a solid TE in Luke Lachey. DUMBEST pick ever. Both Woodson and the Long Snapper were such DUMB Belichickian type of picks.

Rest of the draft, I like a lot. Would’ve taken Noel over Williams, but I get it, Noel is more of a slot, where Williams is more of an outside receiver.

Other picks were really good. UnPatriot like picks.

Remember, we aren’t a premier destination any longer for UDFA. Either we pay double market rate, or have a clear role/payh for those players to make the roster. Thats the only way we get those players. He was clearly the best Long snapper. What makes you think he’d want to sign here. I understand the pick. You also don’t know who they’ve already had conversations with. Relax buddy.

We drafted a Cobee and a Bryant in the 7th round

Wasted pick. He’s has no chance to make the team, YOU have a better chance to make the team. We could’ve had a solid TE in Luke Lachey (went 4 picks later). Should’ve traded it away.

This was an incredibly Belichickan pick. I know most 7th round picks have little chance to make the team, but a guy like Lachey has a better chance to make the team than a Long Snapper when you have a real good one already.

So you’re telling me a long snapper wouldn’t come to New England if offered an UDFA contract ? Here’s a dollar, buy a clue.

You speak like we’re Super Bowl contenders. I can give you a long list of why I wouldn’t sign in NE if I had a choice. He was clearly going to have a list of options.

Long snapper is a brilliant analytical pick. 7th round picks are hits 1 out of 20 years. A Long Snapper could make the roster and play a decade. Any other pick had almost no chance of that.

Half the teams haven’t had a good 7th round pick in the last 10 years.
You should use them for kicker, long snappers, and wild shots at premium positions like QB.

This was overall and incredible analytical draft. They picked the proper positions at the proper times to maximize success chances.

When you realize only 50 players just drafted will start and get a 2nd contract with the team that drafted them you can get over them not picking this or that guy late in the draft.

Same with Mr Irrelevant….take a WR or RB or TE or OL or even a QB project there….rather than a DB from small program no one has ever heard of….that played only 9 games last year due to frequent injuries!

Congrats.
I knew someone would blow a gasket over pick 257 after our first good draft in a decade.

And it's you! You are winner!

The way you described him, sounds like the perfect definition/description for the name “Mr irrelevant”

Purdy got everyone thinking this is some premier draft spot.

I know ….he really is and most don’t amount to anything…..I get it….but I would have used on on someone that has a higher potential and on O side of the ball or OL
