If the Dolphins' recent history is anything to go by, Ewers will get a starting opportunity by midseason this year.
Tua is unfortunately in a fragile situation ….one more concussion and his career is over (a lot of specialists thought he should already be retiring). Great pick by Doofin

haha he has to crawl back into his hole, only feeds on negativity. Poor sod, can't enjoy this great draft for the Pats

Hey hey hey, don’t be so hard on the poor guy, who knows he could have been called away for extensive clean up in aisle 9.

I feel like I read comments like this 2-3 Tua concussions ago.

When he got a concussion and then was hit later in the season and was doing that fencing pose **** I thought that was it for him.

I really hope he doesn't end up like that one DL we had - not Chad Eaton a BB white interior lineman whose name I'm ashamed to admit escapes me - who talkeda bout just sitting in a chair with his eyes closed because TV made him too sick to watch...

I think he is a lot higher than Zappe….watched alot of him in his year and he is a great QB…..Miami might have gotten the steal of the draft especially considering Tua’s history of concussions
I disagree. I watched a lot of Texas too, and I was disappointed that he really didn’t help himself this year. I should have come out last year, he was mocked 3-4 round.

That's true, bad agility... but so does Caeden Wallace, but this guy benched and is strong. I'd also add that since he wasn't invited to the combine like Wallace was, there was no possibility to improve his agility times. Over decades of watching the draft I've repeatedly seen players improve times at their pro day after a bad combine... he didn't have that opportunity.

Also I just went to the SEC page, Missouri passed the 6th most times in the SEC, they ranked first in sack percentage and fewest sacks allowed. They were a really good pass blocking team. In the 7th round this pick has promise.
agree completely, but personally I would have liked Logan Brown more. I am reaching to ***** about something because I feel like I have had too much joy since Thursday.

Solid beef tallow conversation @ ESPN draft coverage right now.

Three TE prospects to consider....

CJ Dippre - Alabama - 6'5" - 256 lbs
Dippre's statistical production was underwhelming in college, but he had a great workout at the combine and could be more productive at the NFL level. His ability to pick up yards after the catch stands out on tape. He's quick enough to make plays down the seam, and he can break tackles in open space. Dippre is a zone buster who settles into windows and squares to the quarterback. He's an inconsistent blocker, but he can get his hands inside and move his feet. Dippre can be a violent lead blocker. Cincinnati offensive guard Luke Kandra is the only player who benched more than Dippre at the combine. -- Steve Muench

I like the part about him being a violent lead blocker. He could be the FB McDaniels is looking for...

Jalin Conyers - Texas Tech - 6'4" - 260 lbs
Conyers caught five touchdowns last season, while also throwing for one and running for two more. At 260 pounds, he had the quickest short shuttle for the tight ends at the combine and tested well. He runs fast, tracks the ball well and makes contested catches downfield. Arizona State and Texas Tech using him as a Wildcat quarterback speaks to his ability to make plays with the ball in his hands. He follows his blocks and breaks tackles. Conyers improved his blocking over the course of his college career, and he has the frame to continue to get better. -- Steve Muench

A little bit of an H-Back. That speaks to his athleticsm. He used to be a QB in high school.

Maliki Matavao - UCLA - 6'6" - 260 lbs
Matavao led the Bruins with 41 catches and 506 receiving yards in 2024. He's a smooth route runner who is quicker than fast and gets to his spots. He can separate with size and strength at the top of routes. He squares to the quarterback and boxes out defenders. Matavao catches passes in traffic over the middle. He gets north-south and breaks tackles after the catch. He's strong enough to cover defenders in space and develop into an effective in-line blocker. -- Steve Muench

I'd say any of these three look like intersting developmental prospects. Maybe PS guys for their first years....

We could still double dip with brown next if hes there. Id say why not

At CB Tommi Hill seems very intriging. Switched from WR to CB in college so is still raw but his upside is interesting. But since Manx has hit so many why not finish hitting fan Favorite Cobee Bryant? Also there are a few other CBs which are highly ranked I know nothing about still around. I'll trust those rankings enough to say there is very likely a value pick to be had a CB near the end of the 7th round.

Yeah he was definitely mocked in the 3-4 round mark so great pick for Miami…..

100% in on Maliki since the first moment I read your post just now.

Is it just me or are 7th rounds not usually so intriguing? It seems more interesting guys are around this year than last year. Wonder if anyone is daring enough to touch Bond. I think not. UDFA likely.
