Lance Zierlein evaluation:
Broad-shouldered interior defender worth consideration as a 3-4 end or a 4-3 interior lineman. Farmer needs to play as a two-gapper who muddies the pocket. He’s powerful, with long arms and strong hands. His anchor is average but should improve if he’s allowed to use that length to gain early control at the point of attack. There is nothing tricky about his rush, but he can jar blockers backward with a single punch. His traits will be coveted but his upside might be as a rotational defender with average starting potential.

Why are draft-day trades so hard to track?? They traded up into the 4th to take Farmer. What was the trade?

Traded a 5th (#144) and 7th (#238) to move up seven spots to draft Farmer.

The Patriots moved up to get Farmer. They jumped from the early fifth round to the late fourth, sending Pick 144 and Pick 238 to the Seattle Seahawks for Pick 137, which was used on Farmer.

Round 4: 137th overall (via SEA) – Joshua Farmer, DT – Florida State

Round 5: 144th overall
*Traded to Seattle for pick #137

Round 5: 146th overall (via CAR)

Round 5: 171st overall (via DAL)

Round 7: 220th overall

Round 7: 238th overall (via LAC)
*Traded to Seattle for pick #137

He was my Binkie.

Not at all. He is much more disruptive and has a pass rush upside. Godchaux was a lump.

Its pretty funny that his comp is Barmore.
You won't find many people who cared less for Godchaux than I did so I am happy to hear he has something to offer as a pass rusher. That was always my issue with Godchaux. He was so one dimensional and our run defense wasn't even good. Hope Farmer works in as a rotational D-linemen with Barmore and Williams.

Godchaux didn't exactly get a lot of help on that defensive line and with Bently out it wasn't completely his fault that he run defense went to ****.

The Edge player many of us had coveted looking at the Day Three pool.
Farmer plus Swinson provides some good depth on DL.
And both terrific value as well.
Awesome draft.

A kicker maybe?

Godchaux was lazy and as dumb as a rock. The D gave up over 140 yards rushing to the Chargers and the fool said he thought the run D played well.
