Dear Mrs. Hornetfb85,

Your husband said publicly that he doesn't go to bed satisfied.

Sincerely,

Ian Patsfans.

Other than Campbell I didn't get any picks exactly right, but I did have 3 out of our 4 picks on my Patriots prediction board, which is probably closer than I've been any year - especially during the Belichick era.

How'd everyone elses picks go so far? Any binkies we should look out for in R4?

Bwahahahahah…nope…not on day 2 of the draft after the 1 or 2 What the F*** picks we typically made.

3/4 for me as well. I didn't end up putting Williams on my board bc he was at the bottom of the list of wrs in terms of size and blocking and wasn't a typical Wolf/Vrabel pick but he obviously brings a lot of other things to the table our other guys don't. And that ultimately won him that spot. I like the value I had a high 3rd on him. If he can learn to block and get more physical he could be a WR2 here.

Logan Brown was near the top of my list athletically for tackles and this would be great value for someone like him. I'm curious what we think of him. I'd go OL/WR/TE with our next pick.

To be honest, I thought we'd go Higgins or even move up for Golden given our horrendous track record at WR... I only added Williams to my shortlist because I saw we had a 30 visit with him. But he does seem to have that deep threat gene we've been needing for a while - I think he's gonna feast when Maye has to make plays off-script this year.

I think we're mainly going defense on day three. My defensive binkies are Bradyn Swinson, Cam Horsley, Cobee Bryant and Craig Woodson.

My guess is we go DL at 106 and if I was to make a prediction for those picks it would be Kyle Kennard, Joshua Farmer or Jack Sawyer although I'm hoping for Bradyn Swinson.

My two remaining offensive binkies are Logan Brown and LeQuint Allen.

Assuming we make four defensive picks, I'd go:

EDGE - Jack Sawyer or Kyle Kennard
DT - Joshua Farmer, Cam Horsley or Nazir Stackhouse
CB - Mac Mcwilliams
SAF - Billy Bowman or Malachi Moore.

I left Golden and Williams off bc of their blocking and Vrabel/Wolf Trends. I'm glad to see them do something different though and love where we got him!

He just missed a 2nd round grade from me. I had him just under Higgins/Noel. His skill-set is 1 of 1 here.

*If he can learn to block at an above above average level, tighten up his footwork at the top of his routes, handle physical nfl press isn't completely necessary bc you can move him around but that would really solidify him as a WR2. He'll always be smal but we have an excellent s&c program. It's notoriously good. Plus he models his game after Tank Dell and *Stefon Diggs*!

I think he should be an automatic in 3/4 wide sets right away. And you're right his ability to separate, that speed when things break down. Will be a great thing to have.

In the draft forum there was a thread to mock the off-season including free agency. I wrote a post where I suggested the FO should target defense in FA and offense in the draft. My reasoning was that a) the defensive class in FA was better than on offense ad b) that it could be beneficial to have an offense that grows in experience together with Drake Maye. Not only that, but it establishes Maye as the clear leader of the offense.

What we've got going on now on offense is just what I hoped would happen. Maye will now have two key weapons on offense and two on the OL at, arguably, the two most important positions, that will now all develop together alongside Maye. I find that really appealing.

How is he as a receiver out of the backfield?
About as high of a level as college prospect can get. He does everything at a high floor. No more scripted plays with him. Remember Momdre can catch the ball as well. Those two splitting carries is an addition by subtraction kind of thing.

guessing we will see a lot less “FIRE WOLF!!!!” posts around these parts for a bit
I'm not sure about that. Is he working with them all as a dynamic FO? Seems that way. But we know who is making this work thus far.
