That makes sense - thanks for the input.The narrow shoulders mean a lot more in this entire discussion. Losing a total of 6 inches across (half a foot effectively) means a lot more than losing 1 or 2 inches due to arm length.
When you're giving the defender 1/2 a foot more room to get around you on each play, that may have some significance.
Comparing current All Pro Wirfs' 34" arms, 10.25" hands, and 80.25" wingspan with Will Campbell's 33" arms, 9.5" hands and 77.4" wingspan. Looks like Wirfs effectively has 0.25" longer arms, and 1.38" wider shoulders. If it gets to extended arm lengths, then it sounds like an OL who lost and has to do an obvious penalty hold.
We'll see if WC's technique will translate to the big leagues.
