Predict Patriots draft decision at 4.

I think it'll be Will Campbell at #4, and I'm OK with it.

I won't be weeping tears of joy when he's picked, and I'd be lying if I said he didn't make me a little nervous, but I think he's got a reasonably good chance to be the Patriots' solution at LT for the next decade. And if he can't handle LT, most experts seem to think that the worst case scenario is that he'll be a pretty good player at LG. That's obviously not ideal for the 4th overall selection, but it's not worthless, either.

If Carter or Hunter are not available and we can't trade down, I think it's gonna be Jeanty.

Has Josh ever run a good offense around a feature back? I can't think of any. Josh Jacobs was good but I wouldn't say that about the rest of the Raiders offense.

The run game has always been critical in Josh's offense as well as a RB coming out of the backfield as a receiving option.

Someone say RB out the backfield?

It's probably Campbell, and I'm fine with that because it indicates our coaches are fine with it.

But a trade down with Chicago to #10 for their 41st pick would be my preference, assuming the team feels there's another quality OT we can get at 10.

never know!
LV will trade up unless they are sure that their player will be there at 6. The cost to trade with us would be very small: a 4th or even a 5th, That presumes that we really want Campbell and don't want to risk going down further than 6. I would think that LV would jump at the chance to have their choice of whoever is still there at 4.
============================
Let us say that we are NOT sold on Campbell.

In that case, it is certainly possible that the teams at 8, 9, 10 or 11 would be willing to send us a 2nd or 3rd so that they can get their player. It is hard to see why a team sitting at 11 would want to see SEVEN more players go by at 4 through 10 if were to offer to move down for a 3rd. Personally, would expect a 2nd.

I don't think that this will happen because I think that Vrabel is ready to rush the CAMPBELL card to the podium at 4 or 6.

Earlier I said Campbell with the 4th pick which is my default or safe pick. However my other scenario is we swap first round picks with the Raiders and get whatever from them to make up for us dropping a couple picks, a lot of mocks I’ve seen have the Jaguars picking Jeanty, maybe the Raiders draft him at 4 or draft a tackle since they haven’t come to terms with their current LT. At 6 we pick Warren, then tomorrow we trade for their LT.

For Maye's health and success, drafting the best LT in the draft is the right thing to do. Yes, it's sucky that this is not a good draft to have the #4 Pick in. And Campbell at present may not be the BPA at #4. But, the NEED is real and we cannot have Lowe as our starting LT again or Maye and this team is cooked!!! So, it's a case of: "Suck it up Buttercup", and draft Campbell whether fans like it or not.

I do not think WC is a safe pick at 4.
Quite the opposite..,its a risky pick
Forcing a positional need pick on a player with potential physical shortcomings is VERY risky
Taking bpa is safe pick

The report that the Giants want to hop back into the first to grab Dart, just took a blow when it's now being reported that the Raiders are looking closely at taking him at 9. That would leave the Giants holding the back and might force them to take Sanders at 3 otherwise they will have just good enough QB play to f them out of a top 3 pick next season with a defensive line that is really really really good.

And if the Pats pass on Campbell when does he get picked?

He won’t slide very far, so he may be close to the bpa.

News flash!

This is a weak draft class.

Dianna Russini in today's Athletic: "The Patriots, armed with the No. 4 pick, know they have a lot of needs, and while the prospect of trading up to draft Hunter or Penn State edge Abdul Carter is appealing, New England understands the importance of building a solid foundation — and how vital draft picks are to doing it. Expect Eliot Wolf, Mike Vrabel and company to use their top selection to beef up their offensive line, and attempt to plug other holes throughout the draft."

Campbell is a safe, consensus pick within the organization. As a player the guy has size, strength, athletic ability and the attitude, and mentality to be a day 1 starter. Also with having Drake and all he brings as a skill set is a huge benefit to the OTs.
