Predict Patriots draft decision at 4.

"Ugh, I don't want a guy that 'at worst' is a great guard on a team with the worst offensive line in the NFL. Get that competence outta here." - This fanbase, apparently.
I know people don’t want to take a guard at 4, and I DO understand that sentiment.

This draft is what it is.

Now no one would object to that guard if it was the next John Hannah, and I am not saying that Campbell is, but here is a little factoid from history that may only be interesting to me.

Do you all know who went at #3 the year the Pats got John Hannah at #4?

Jerry Sizemore from Texas, an OT drafted by the Eagles.

Do not do it! Have a look at the figure below
It will not end well

The problem is Campbelll would have to be an outlier to succeed in the NFL with such short arms. Why would you bet on an outlier to overcome the odds with the #4 overall pick? It's like making a desperate decision on a girl after 10 drinks too many and it's near closing time. That usually doesn't End Well!

You do know that there are at least 2 OT's at 33", and another at 33 1/4" that are considered VG tackles playing in the NFL RIGHT NOW don't you?
If not, do a search for yourself.

I keep hearing this ******** on here.

Here's the scenario. No Hunter or Carter at #4.

Patriots trade back with the Cowboys for #12 and #44 so they can make a big Jerry Jones splash and draft Ashton Jeanty.

With these added picks, the Patriots select:

#12 LT Josh Simmons.
#38 LT Conerly Jr.
#42 WR Jayden Higgins
#69 WR Kyle Williams
#77 TE Elijah Arroyo

We hit the draft hard, early and often for offensive players. Patriots Completely restock talent on the offense side of the ball in the draft. Who says no?

Simply not a fan of Campbell. I like Simmons, Conerly Jr, and Banks better. In that order. You're entitled to your opinion; I'd rather move down and play the odds for athletes who profile better to LT.

You mean what they tried to do last year?
I'm curious, just how long are Patella Tendon Simmons Arms?

This would be a solid draft.
Or stay put and take Jeanty.
I have to think Vrabel remembers all those crazy Henry games and see Saquan and Henry still pounding.

I’m going Jeanty if we stay at 4.

What does that mean exactly, that his shoulders are a little narrower, so less hand length to grab?
Where is the weight going, to his legs instead?

"Ooooooo noooo...there goes Tokyo go go Godzilla "

How's he a luxury? So your take is he can't read offenses?? McCourty was a CB who busted in his second season and was switched By BB to salvage his career. He didn't come into the league as a FS he learned to become one and did well! Peppers when healthy is a borderline all pro caliber player. In 2023 he was a borderline all pro and was the playmaker in the secondary. Last season he got hurt and had the legal issue. That's all behind him. The guys a Rodney Harrison type enforcer in the secondary. Dugger is also a great player and played injured last season. They both are NEEDS. Veterans that have been here that can carry vrables messaging on the field.
If you can't read plain English, you'd do everyone a courtesy by not responding. I never said he couldn't read the offense. I said he couldn't read them AND Call out the Secondary Adjustments.

I know exactly how McCourt transitioned from CB to FS. It doesn't change the fact that McCourty became a Field General with the ability to make the Pre-Snap Read and Adjust the Secondary. So please, stop with your nonsensical regurgitation of things that are common knowledge. It shows that you don't actually understand what's being said.

Neither Peppers nor Dugger is a FIELD GENERAL. Neither had shown the ability to adequately make the Pre-Snap reads and call the Defensive adjustments for the Secondary. Neither was capable with BB there. Neither has been capable since. You'd know this if you paid attention and didn't over-inflate their individual play.

You're yammering about "borderline ALL-Pro" play ignores the fact that Peppers was one of the guys who was freelancing. Not playing within the system. Peppers was out of position on plenty of plays during BBs final year and plenty during the 6 games he was available last season.

There are HUGE assumptions by you to think that Pepper's drug issue is magically behind him. Yes. I said it. Peppers has a drug issue. Which is why he had a baggie of Coke in his wallet. If you think that his arse isn't going to be tested regularly, you aren't paying attention. That's also the sort of distraction that a new coach doesn't need from Vets.

So yes. In my opinion, Peppers is a LUXURY. A guy that the Pats really can't afford to have around because he's redundant to Dugger. Maybe you weren't paying attention, but the Free Agency signings say that we're not going to see a lot of time with both on the field. With Vrabel's/Williams' 4-3, they're going to be using 3 traditional LBs. Not using a Peppers/Dugger to play in the box. With Landry, Chaisson, and Ellis, you've got 3 of the 4 OLBs that you'd rely on. I'd put money they'll be adding someone in the draft by the 3rd round. That doesn't leave a lot of snaps (if any) to put an extra Box Safety on the field. And the Pats have 3 of them in Dugger, Peppers and Mapu. And that's only if they don't move Mapu to OLB or use Gibbens there.

Peppers was a BB reclamation project. He pushed Phillips out, but he has his warts. Any unbiased person would admit that instead of ignoring reality the way you are doing.

There are parts of your post that I both agree and disagree with - but this one is an issue that gets lost in the shuffle. He *copped* to the cocaine being his, to the cops when they showed up. The rest of the situation was made up by the girlfriend, but the cocaine was very, very real, he not only admitted to it to the cop, but he admitted it in court, and he was adjudicated on it.

Weed is one thing. Cocaine is another animal entirely.

Both Campbell and Membou are rated in the top ten in most draft boards.
True. But you could trade down to 6 and still get either one or 9 and get one or the other most likely. I wouldn’t take Banks at 4 but I wouldn’t be surprised if he turned out to be the best tackle in the draft. Has all the measurables and played against elite competition.

Ugh I don’t want Campbell but I’m convinced that’s who it will be. Jeanty is BPA after Hunter/Carter
It's the reality of where things are with the OL. As a team that's still trying to gather talent and become competitive again we have to take the glaring need to protect Drake if we think he's the franchise QB.

NE has the 31st ranked offense.
2 main personnel factors were the root cause - OL and WR.
WR has been partially addressed with Diggs.
OL has as well but with depth.
WR is still very much a 2025 draft priority.
OL specifically OT is the Patriots biggest need.

I hope somebody figures out who to take at OT because its doubtful that the Pats will be picking 4th in the 2026 draft.
