Pairing the 38th and 69th pick to move back into the 1st

I'm fine trading up, but i wonder if the board will make sense for us to do it. I don't see the boarding falling in a way that makes it likely we trade up. Even if Banks is there. is he really worth a trade up? IDK.

We need help on O. Talent upgrades required at receiver, Oline and running back. A young developmental TE is also due. That 69th pick should go a long way to shoring up depth and potentially a starter, at one of these positions. I get why you are suggesting it, but I hope it doesn't happen.
Would anyone complain if we used this pick on a stoud Dlineman?
So many needs!

If we want our pick of tackles after Cambell and Banks, we'll have to jump the Texans at 25. The Vikings would make excellent trade partners picking just one before.
I think it makes a lot of sense to trade with Vikings. They also lack a 2nd round pick, so getting an early 2nd and 3rd might be just the kind of value the are looking for to move down.

We do have two 3rd round picks. So moving one of those to get more of a sure thing at LT in the late 1st would be a smart move imo. We were not aggressive enough in last year's draft and missed the run on tackles. We can't afford to sit on our hands again when we do have extra picks to move up.

Banks, Simmons, Conerly, Milum, Ersery. One of this group should be available in the 20's. Don't know how many of them make it all the way down to #38. It could get dicey if a run starts.

There will be a lot of teams offering to trade for that spot I'm sure. If we could gain some picks by trading out of 4 I'm all for it.

Moving into Round 2 for Simmons and giving up a third? I'd rather stick at 38 and take Esery or Conerly there. Then take FS Mukuba with 69.

We might not need to if this speculation about the Titans spending big on OL in the draft is to be believed:

Yet, this very much feels like table-setting to make Cam Ward the first pick. I'm sure the Titans have not bailed all the hay on that decision yet, and passing on elite non-QBs like Carter or Hunter can be dangerous business, unless they're sold on the idea that Ward can be a difference-maker. But they can't just march into 2025 with Will Levis and a scrap-heap veteran and expect to energize the fanbase after three straight losing seasons."

If the Titans go Ward with the first pick, it strongly increases the chances Shedeur goes top 3 in my view.

Why wouldn't the exact opposite be the case?

After the Titans, there are 4 teams in the Top 10 who could be considered in need of a QB.
The Giants, Browns, Raiders, and Jets. Let's look a bit at those 4 teams.

- To me, the Giants Free Agency moves of bringing in Winston and Wilson to go with Tommy Devito is a sign that they have no interest in a QB in the draft.

- The Browns are saddled with DeShaun Watson's albatross of a contract through at least the 2025 season. They can probably cut him after the start of the 2026 season with a June 1 designation, but his 2026 salary is fully guaranteed meaning that it's unlikely. Add to that the weakness of the QB prospects in this draft class and the fact that they added Kenny Pickett, shelling out the money for a top 3 pick at QB, both short term and long term, seems like a non-starter.

- The Raiders signed Geno Smith gives them their QB1 in addition to having Aiden O'Connell. To me, this takes pressure off of them to add the QB of the future in a weak draft. I don't think there would be any urgency from them to jump up to 3 or 4 to get Sanders

- That leaves the Jets. The Jets have Justin Fields, Tyrod Taylor, and a couple of scrubs. After the Titans, they seem to be the most QB desperate. Could they swap with the Giants, Browns, or Pats to take Sanders? Sure. But they could easily stay put knowing that neither the Pats nor Jaguars are going to spend a pick on Sanders.

After the top 10 teams, the next teams would be the Seahawks at 18, Tampa at 19, and Steelers at 21.

I think that the Cowboys might have been a destination for Sanders had they not traded for Milton.

So, I could easily see Sanders sliding out of the top 10 if Ward is the #1 over-all.

I fully expect the Texans to move up in the 1st round to get their LT. Their trade of Tunsil gives them the capital to do so. Heck, they have the capital to make a move with the Pats if they really wanted to.

Yeah, I don't like the idea of worrying about our LT in a trade up. Just too much left to chance. Unless Carter or Hunter are there at 4, just take the LT with our first pick.

I think the Saints are a possibility as well.

Saints?

Thats why if I'm trying to Max out on the trade down I would target the Panthers at 8.

Beat me to it lol

Agree completely. And the Vikings are the best team to look at for trading back into the 1st round.

Betting crap means nothing to me in regards to what teams will actually do.

The Saints drafted Rattler last year. I'd take him over Sanders any day.

I know that I am the oddball here, but I want nothing to do with either Hunter or Carter. If both of them are available at 4, I would use them being there to trade down and maximize the value. I wouldn't trade out of the top 10 unless the offer was stellar. Add one of Campbell, Esery, Banks, Conerly, Membou.. Then use the draft to bolster the other positions. There are plenty of starter quality DEs/DTs that are only marginally below Carter and Graham.

With the addition of Carlton Davis, the draw of adding Travis Hunter just isn't there. He's insistent that he plays both ways as close to full time as possible. That just won't happen on the Pats with both Davis and Gonzalez in front of him.

I would expect the Pats to double dib at OT by the end of the 4th round. I also think the Pats will double dip at RB since they are only carrying three currently.

It's probably a more reliable source than this guy.

We all agree that a trade down if a haul is in the discussion than we take it BUT that's a big IF so if you are forced to pick and Hunter/Carter are gone who are you taking of forced to stick and pick at 4?

We're also in agreement on double dipping at OT. RB class is so deep I wouldn't be surprised if some decent talent goes undrafted this year. Same at TE.
