Riddick predicting Hunter to Patriots

I can't wait to see this board melt down when Hunter/Carter are on the board and they trade back.

I think that’s less likely now than it was a few weeks ago. Now I think they are more likely to go best player available at #4, and then go OT trading up into the 20’s and taking their OT there.

This team is also devoid of pro bowl caliber players. We have other picks to add depth but can we please have some players on the team that can turn a game a game on its head. Hunter and Carter are those guys.

So, trade our 2nd, 3rd and 4th and HOPE that we can sign Connerly?

I'm leaning towards saving the picks and drafting Charles Grant who has the upside of Conerly, or Ozzy Trapilo, depending on the feedback from Marrone and BoB and their views on whether he can play LT.

Whichever way they go, it's very possible we'll be spending next off-season discussing LTs again.

Charles Grant was an absolute monster at 1-AA.
I'd be on board, but I can only imagine the outrage that we didn't take the t-rex arms guy because SEC.

Charles Grant's 35" arms are certainly appealing. However, I do think Will Campbell ends up being the pick if Sanders doesn't go top 3.

Every single solitary mock I've done, Conerly's there at 38. So is Ersery.

As usual the mocks have changed quite a bit since the combine. Guys like Emmanwari and Golden have risen dramatically while others fall. That and the Diggs signing cause me to believe are more likely to take BPA at 5, and then an OT with their 2nd pick, because the OT are moving back, while the guys who had great combines have been moving up.

Ultimately it’s really hard to know what they are thinking, which is a good thing, as telegraphing intent in the draft usually isn’t a good thing. They could decide that OL is such a huge need that they have to double dip at it, and maybe even triple dip ( e.g..Membou, Conerly, Grant). Or they could believe that you can’t pass on Hunter or Carter if they are there, and wait until the 2nd round for a tackle. There are numerous scenarios they could go with, most of which are good, so it should be fun to see how it shakes out.

Grant is a guy I keep thinking about in the third.
You want to see some awesome LT tape, watch some Charles Grant tape. He was crushing future insurance salesmen like bugs every week.

Talk in Cleveland is picking up that Hunter rather than Carter will be their pick.

Betting odds just moved Hunter over Carter to be drafted by Cleveland at 2

We certainly will if we wait until the 3rd round to draft our prospective starter. It seems wrong to wait until the 3rd round and HOPE that Ozzy or Grant is available when we pick.

There are no perfect options. Picking a LT at 4 is the only way to guarantee we get one. In the case of Grant or Trapilo, trading back from 38 would probably net them and not leave us hoping on 69.

That’s fine. Those idiots still won’t have a QB. Browns being Browns.
