16 game schedule with no Thursday was perfection. Straying further from it each year it seems.

18 is inevitable.

At that point 2 bye weeks could be in the cards.

And at that point, there'd be no excuse for TNF participants not to be coming off a bye week.

Well the name alone should give some insight as to why it needs updating. This is the single most important piece of legislation controlling how we digest sports, and yet it was made 65 years ago, back when there were 3 networks. No cable, no satellite, no streaming.

The role sports play in our society has fundamentally changed in the past 65 years. The methods by which we digest those sports have fundamentally changed in the past 65 years. And yet this 65 year old piece of legislation is still the primary law determining how sports are broadcasted. It isn't even really known whether or not this Act covers streaming but (so far) the NFL wants to avoid controversy so they are acting as if it does - even though it probably doesn't.

Sure seems to me it could use some updating and clarification for our modern age.

I didn't laugh at it, I asked you to elaborate. I didn't even question the veracity of your statement. I don't think you're wrong a bit, but there's no way the gov't as it's currently constituted, can look into this and agree. If one side wants it changed, thew other is going to oppose purely because there's too much "eff those guys on the other side of the aisle" going on. They can't agree on basic chit right now.

Not a huge fan of Thursday night games except for Thanksgiving and holidays. But meh. I think this really affects out of town fans who have to buy tickets the most. They have to plan physical trips to the stadium.

They need to pass a rule stating that teams that have a Thursday game do not play the Sunday before.

Not sure about others, but I have yet to see a Thursday game where the product on the field was as good as any of the Sunday games. This stems from lack of game preparation teams are allowed and the player recovery time from the game they played on Sunday.

Meh. Don't travel for TNF games so not concerned with some Eagles fan who can't be rowdy in Washington since they moved it. When you purchase a ticket you take a chance. We pay for Prime so these games can be watched. They typically are not these days except for the Pats TNF game.

Hate it. Thursday games tend to be a poor product because most of the time it’s teams playing on short rest. I’d prefer Thanksgiving be the only time games are played on Thursday, but at the very least these should only involve teams coming off their bye weeks. The NFL doesn’t care because they’re getting that sweet, sweet Amazon money from their deal.

Basically, the NFL is doing its level best to ruin the NFL (as it's been doing over the last 25 years).

I understand it is my responsibility to defend my opinion, but it is not my responsibility to educate people on the single most important piece of US sports broadcasting legislation of all time.

Let's not go overboard here. There have been plenty of entertaining Thursday games over the past 2 years and plenty of duds on Sundays. Those TNF duds stand out more because they are the only games being played and the only game to talk about the next day.

The NFL is currently the most popular sport in the history of the United States. No other sport has dominated the American landscape the way the NFL currently does.

IOW, whatever the NFL is doing, it is the exact opposite of "ruining" the League.

I like how Sunday ticket would get you all the games but now it only gives you about 75% because of Netflix, Amazon etc etc. But yet the price for Sunday ticket continues to rise. With the way technology is now the NFL network should provide a streaming service that allows a package for me to simply choose a team (or various packages for say multiple teams) and be able to watch all the teams games in realtime. But of course that would be a savings for the fan and why would the league want to do that?
