EDIT
Lots of folks are saying that there are lots and lots of quality RB's, even in the 4th or 5th which should be worth considering.
===============
Sure, the coaches need to do a good and almost all of our signings need to work out.
It seems that we aren't that far aways, unless we need to use 3 picks to move up for a LT.
===========
CAN'T WE DRAFT
OT in the top 7
WR
DL (to upgrade Roy and/or Johnson)
TE (to upgrade Bell)
OT (to upgrade Jacobs)
IOL flyer perhaps in the 5th
=======
CAN'T WE STILL SIGN (2nd or even 3rd level) IN THE NEXT FOUR MONTHS
RB almost always available for a reasonable price
CB, CB (to compete with Bolden and Dial)
DL (unless you love Roy and Johnson)

Just here to say that I don’t love Roy, nor Johnson…

There are 8 games on our schedule against teams who won 5 or fewer games.
Jets
Jets
Browns
Giants
Saints
Titans
Panthers
Raiders.

None of those teams look as if they are improving this year.

Win those and go 2-7 against the rest of our schedule and we are a contender.

There is absolutely no reason his team shouldn’t contend.

We will win the division. Guaranteed, unless God forbid Maye gets injured

if we land Hunter, then I say yes. The Pats didn’t do enough on offense. So Hunter improves your WR corps big time. And the defense additions should help what was a good defense 2 years ago.

Draft a LT at 38.

Sure, whether there is one at 38 that has any chance of starting or not. ???

No, if we draft Hunter (probable if he is available), we will more likely trade our 2nd, 3rd and 4th round draft choices to move up to 20 or 21 to draft a LT that we hope can be a starter in 2025. We will then count on Lowe as our backup LT.

First, we need to have a starting LT and a backup LT.
First we need to draft the BPA. Prioritizing needs is what the Pats did in the 2024 draft. Silliness.

I’d be fine with a trade UP scenario you mention for the LT.

Or Moses can (backup) move to LT and Wallace can play RT.
No way they’re moving Moses to LT.

Ideally the LT depth chart will be:
Day 1 draft pick
Love

And RT depth chart:
Moses
Wallace

It’s March but I already feel we’re #2 in the AFC East.

Buffalo is still the team to beat but the JETES are going to be BAD and Miami is at best an average team with a JAG HC and a QB who’s a concussion with legs.

I’m confident that we can compete for a wild card spot.

I would also hope that we draft an addition OT on Day Two, carrying 5, and training up 3 youngsters for the future (the draftees and Wallace).

Moses is a RT, he’s not moving to LT.
Moses has played both RT and LT. The discussion was who is the LT backup if the primary LT like Simmons goes on the IR.

If "Day 1 draft pick" goes on the IR, Moses at LT might be preferred to Lowe at LT. It is easier to backfill RT with Wallace or another.

If by competitive you mean win 6-8 games and show improvement. That's what I expect as long as we NAIL this draft down tight.

If by competitive you mean playoffs I've got a meme for you...

Depends what you mean by competitive. Can we be one of the 14 teams that make the playoffs? If we hit the draft well sure. Can we bounce a team better than ours? Potentially. I mean we've seen average teams make the final four even, of course only for their luck to run out and get smacked down hard. Could that be us? Sure. But it's unlikely.

We better be competitive. There’s no reason we shouldn’t be. If we aren’t, it probably means maye sucks or got injured
