2025 Draft: WRs

Am the only one who thinks WR Luther Burden is going to fall?? I don't think he goes before E Egbuka and Jayden Higgins might be flirting with the late First Round. I'm going to be honest Burden's tape doesn't impress me maybe I'm wrong about him. But the Texas boys Golden and Bond have better tapes than Burden. This a sneaky decent WR class a lot of Fast guys.

Bond and Burden both have character issues which I highly doubt will mesh with Vrabel. I do not look into character issues, but have read multiple mentions that character issues are a concern. Too much smoke to not have some substance.

Sneaky fast guys is a good way to put it. So many above average sneaky fast guys it is tough to know who to pick. But a tall 6'4"ish guy paired with Hunter would be great (Higgins and Chase).

I’m not a huge fan of the top guys in the draft. In particular McMillan, Golden and Burden. I think Egbuka is a really solid pick late in the 1st.

My preference would be to take one of these day 2 guys though. I think Higgins will end up out producing some of the 1st round guys and Noel very much reminds me of Tyler Lockett.

Interesting. I think the production is the difficulty there which is night and day between the two. Having said that the offenses are very different too. Lane comes from a much more run-orientated offense.

Definitely a difference in production, and Lane is undersized, as well. When I watch his routes and movement on the field, though, I see a more nuanced player who creates separation earlier in his routes (to be fair, Noel is often running more vertical routes). The two aren't running the same offense, so it's tough to compare directly, but Lane looks like a safety blanket for a quarterback with an uncanny ability to uncover quickly. A better version of Pop Douglas.

You want a high end estimate? Welker with more speed comes to mind.

I love the fact that his athleticism is so obvious on the tape. You don't always see that with prospects but with Lane it's so apparent. He's also quite unique athletically.

Steve Smith breaks down Jalen Royals. He might be available for the Patriots selection in the 2nd or 3rd rounds.

Watch the Utah st vs Boise st game back from oct 5th. Fun factor 10 seeing Royals and Jeanty pile up the yards and td’s.

Been on that train for awhile now. Glad to see Royals getting some love from one of all timers of our generation. Too many sleeping on the guy. I may have mentioned him way earlier in this thread or maybe another one.

I keep coming back to Maryland’s Tai Felton as an excellent pick for us at 144. He is the outside receiver with size and speed.

Why he isn’t valued more highly is a mystery to me. I mean he’s two inches taller and a faster guy (4.37 vs 4.45) than Green Bay’s Jayden Reed, last year’s third round pick.

I mean WTF.

I like Jaylin Lane at 144.

I think it has to do with his very slight frame, which I don't get because others in this draft are also slight but not hit with the same stigma.

I like him a lot

Why?

From all accounts Polk looked good in camp/practice. We haven't even seen Baker on the field really and he has the higher upside IMO. The only one in jeopardy of getting cut is Bourne and he was probably our best WR not that long ago.

That group is simply Not Good Enough; not by a damn sight.

1. Travis Hunter
2. Tet McMillan
3. Luther Burden
4. Jalen Royals
5. Jayden Higgins
6. Emeka Egbuka
7. Jaylin Noel
8. Matthew Golden
9. Jack Bech
10. Tre Harris
11. Kyle Williams

Hunter as a WR is #1? What does he he think of him as a CB, I wonder...

Lotta love for Royals, Higgins, Noel & Williams too; not as much for Egbuka, Golden & Harris...

Jayline Lane looks electric with the ball in his hands. His college production is not impressive as a WR but he's an explosive kick returner. I would expect him to fill the role of a WR/KR/PR. 21.7 yards avg return on kicks and 9.8 on punts.

Feels like a Cordarrelle Patterson type of player.

That offense is really not receiver friendly. Makes it hard on receivers to stand out
