Steelers the price for Milton just went to a second and if we want Pickens, not sure Vrab does.

I am really surprised that nobody has signed Trey Lance. He has not played that much football and is probably still moldable.

I really think the Chaisson could have a significant impact this year as a 9T/DE in a rotation, he seems to have a good burst of the LOS and uses a good 2 hand swipe, less frequent with a spin but seems to set up OTs relatively well.

I'm curious why there hasn't been more movement on the offensive line. Maybe they feel the guys they can get in the draft are just as good, or they are higher on the guys here then we are. But for a while there have been some very affordable options out there. I kind of don't understand why the line is still the problem it is right now.
If we draft a LT in round 1 we look pretty good with LT Strange Bradbury Onwenu Moses.
Schweitzer is a vet jag backup
Wallace was a 3rd round pick if he can’t be a backup that’s awful
Lowe could pass for a backup LT I guess.
Robinson was awful last year but could develop.
I think we need another vet or draft pick at IOL.

We are much better already but need the LT

How bad of a trade was the Niners giving up all that draft Capitol for Lance
Has to be Top 3 worst trades
Gave up 3 first round picks to select Lance 3rd in draft
Played 10 games with 3 starts in his NFL career

I sometimes wonder if Simmons bulks up & gives edge rusher a shot, would it work?….

He's been a heckuva lot more productive than Chiasson from the same draft has been, that's for darn sure. I don't get that signing at all.

Simmons played 181 snaps for a bad giants team. He played his way off the cardinals on to the Giants bench and now to the unemployment line.
He’s really just a flier to see if you can figure out why a guy with so much athletic ability has sucked so bad.
Chaisson is an edge rusher who was bad in Jacksonville but rejuvenated his career in LV last year.

As busts go, Chaisson fits a need and seems to be figuring it out while Simmons is struggling to find a position and on the decline.

I’d take them both for cheap big Chaisson is a better choice.

It's a ceiling signing. If he could put it all together, he'd be incredible. The amount of 'wow' moments he had at LSU was kind of crazy.

Because the Patriots aren't a contender this year, it's ok, in my mind, to sign a guy like this. It would be different if they were in contention. But this is the kind of guy you want to sign in a rebuild, young, ton of potential. It's why I wanted them to make a run at Becton too. When your team is short on talent, you need to bring in talent. And if it doesn't work out, it's not going to hamstring you for the next 5 years.

Simmons would a) cost real money and b) He can play 5 positions, but you need to get him into one you don't already have locked up. Middle Linebacker? You have like 73 strong safeties already, and I don't know about Simmons playing a field safety spot. I get the idea lining him up at EDGE, but it's not like he's shown crazy pass-rushing skills in the past. Slot corner, maybe?

I get what you're saying, he's a football player, and you get football players on your team, I understand. It's just kind of tough for me to see a place where he'd definitely start.

Good reminder that Free Agency part 2 happens pretty shortly after the draft and the Pats still have a lot of cash
