Who are we thinking we open the season with?

I think it’s @ Tampa at 4:25 with Brady on the call.

Home against the Jets at 1:00.

No one west of the Hudson gets it on their local TV station. Once you're west of the Tappan Zee, the broadcast switches to Pittsburgh-Houston.

Always Miami in Miami. It is and forever shall be

At the Jets for 1:00 PM. New coaches for both teams who are coming off disappointing seasons. Maye vs. Fields.

I can't see them putting a 4-win time in the late time slot.
Most likely it's not going to be broadcast out of either team's regional tv markets in week one.

There was a three-year stretch (2020-21-22) the Pats played Miami in week one, but every other season in recent memory has been a non-division team, and often an NFC team.

Pats are at Tennessee this year, but I'll guess they save that "Vrabel vs old team" for later, maybe a Thursday night.
Similarly home vs Atlanta can be marketed as a SB rematch, so I'm crossing that off the list.

I'll guess at New Orleans.
Second guess would be home vs Browns.

If not the JETE maybe the G-men @1

You think they'd burn @Buffalo week 1? They've done it before.

2025: TBD
2024: at Cincinnati, 1:00
2023: vs Philadelphia, 4:25
2022: at Miami, 1:00
2021: vs Miami, 4:25
2020: vs Miami, 1:00

2019: vs Pittsburgh, Sunday Night
2018: vs Houston, 1:00
2017: vs Kansas City, Thurdsay Night
2016: at Arizona, Sunday Night
2015: vs Pittsburgh, Thursday Night

2014: at Miami, 1:00
2013: at Buffalo, 1:00
2012: at Tennessee, 1:00
2011: at Miami, Monday Night
2010: vs Cincinnati, 1:00

2009: vs Buffalo, Monday Night
2008: vs Kansas City, 1:00
2007: at Jets, 1:00
2006: vs Buffalo, 1:00
2005: vs Oakland, Thurdsay Night

2004: vs Indianapolis, Thursday Night
2003: at Buffalo, 1:00
2002: vs Pittsburgh, Monday Night
2001: at Cincinnati, 1:00
2000: vs Tampa Bay, 1:00

Bold = coming off a super bowl win.

So maybe not always AT Miami but 5x versus Miami from 2000 to 2024
Let's go back another 10 years.
1990 Miami
1991 @ Colts
1992 BYE
1993 Bills
1994 Miami
1995 Browns
1996 Miami
1997 San Diego
1998 Broncos
1999 Jets

Another 3x

8 games to open the season in 34 years

You think they'd burn @Buffalo week 1? They've done it before.
A couple years ago they shifted to having more late season division games so it’s less likely week 1 is divisional.

How about this, every new modern era coach who won their first game in New England turned out to be a loser here... Just playing the odds... Want Vrabel to succeed, and if it means losing the first game, so be it...

Mayo - ◉
Belichick - ◎
Carroll - ◉
Parcells - ◎
MacPherson - ◉

I didn't include Rod Rust, who is arguably the worst coach in team history, simply because 1990 was chaos. The 1990 season bears this out... But i do acknowledge that he lost his first game, and every other game except the second game of that year...
