You don't draft #2 wrs even in the top 15.
That's why I'd consider trading up to 2 for Carter.Zo was talking about how the Giants signing Winston and Wilson will likely mean they are out on Sanders at 3. That's where Hunter will go, which is why the Pats moved forward with Diggs. So if it's Ward, Carter, Hunter and then the Pats, I think they'll find the trade value greatly diminished. I hope not, but you never know.
I am really hoping there's a dance partner to move back a handful, like everyone else. If they can get an extra 2nd, that's where the strength of this draft is. Pick up BPA in R1, gimme Ozzy and Higgins in R2, assuming you don't take LT or WR in R1. Then gimme Tate Ratledge at #69. Double dip LT on day three. That's why I'd consider trading up to 2 for Carter.
I think the strength is in the 3rd which is good that we have 2 picks but I'd love to add more lolI am really hoping there's a dance partner to move back a handful, like everyone else. It's not a bad idea in theory. But the cost would just be too high. If we needed one difference maker, pay the cost. But Carter doesn't even fill an obvious need. The cost to move up to #2 is 800 points on the draft chart. Just using that as a guide, 38 and 69 are 775 points. Even if they took just 38, I dont think your can justify it. That means we're waiting until the 3rd round again to address OT, which simply can't happen. That's why I'd consider trading up to 2 for Carter.
I think the third is an excellent spot to get a pass rusher (Stewart, Swinson, Kennard), Trapilo if they want him or a WR if we haven't got one at that stage. The others I'd add are Treveyon Henderson if he falls ar a guard (Milum or Ratledge). Those are the players I'd be targeting in round 3.I think the strength is in the 3rd which is good that we have 2 picks but I'd love to add more lol
Here's a screen shot from a recent mock I did which to me is a perfect example.
The difference between Taylor(65) and Arroyo(102) is negligible.
There's many ways you can go with speculation on picks. Thats one way. But it's just as easily, and more likely to me, that the Giants realize the Browns are going Sanders at 2, so they had to get a QB.Zo was talking about how the Giants signing Winston and Wilson will likely mean they are out on Sanders at 3. FWIW, Schefter is now saying the Browns are going Carter. However, until this week he'd been saying Shedeur. There's many ways you can go with speculation on picks. Thats one way. The Patriots may think Hunter is going 3, so they pulled the trigger on Diggs. But, it's not like Diggs and Hunter can't co-exist. With similar body types, Diggs could be an excellent mentor for Hunter. Diggs played a lot more slot last year as well, meaning the two can easily be on the field together as well.
The can co-exist, to be sure. But the way it was framed (my interpretation of Zo's comments) were that The Giants were taking Hunter so they needed to move on Diggs and not miss out on both. There's many ways you can go with speculation on picks. Tet is a slow, jump ball guy.Who says he'll never be a WR1?
Puka Nacua and Stefon Diggs were Day 3 guys that have become WR1's. I know you can argue that you can find guys later - that's fine. But McMillan absolutely can become a WR1 in the league.
As far as taking a #2 WR in the top 10. The Bears just took Rome Odunze at 9 to be their WR2. Jaylen Waddle is a WR2 taken at 6. I dont think Chris Olave is a true WR1 and he went 11. Devonta Smith went 10. WR has become such an important and expensive position, and WR2 absolutely is worth a top 15 pick.
You certainly can argue whether he's worth the #4 pick. But I dont think you can argue that he has wr1 potential(whether you like him or not, the potential is there) or that wr2's aren't worth top 15
That goes both ways. Sure, when you look at Hunter compared to McMillan, speed stands out in favor of Hunter. But when you look at the two, there's another glaring difference, and it favors McMillan. McMillan dwarfs Hunter. Hunter couldn't guard McMillan without holding him when they matched up.Tet is a slow, jump ball guy.
Has good quickness but no speed.
No explosiveness.
Watch enough tape of both Hunter and Tet and the huge difference in ability is glaring.
I agree 100% with Steve Smith, who's as good a wr evaluator as exists on earth.
" a good, not great wr".
Tet is a wr#1 only on a team with a crappy wr#2. He's limited. To me, he's late 1st round talent.
Steve Smith had Keon Coleman and Adonai Mitchell ahead of Brian Thomas last year. Nobody is perfect.Tet is a slow, jump ball guy.

That applies to any WR we draft. Not if the LT position is as it was last year....he's never had to learn a McDaniels playbook, even a dumb-downed one. Hard to tell what is going on from the neck up.
Most. That applies to any WR we draft.
