What’s our plan at Wide Receiver?

My belief is they will draft a LT. Lowe is a borderline starter so assume they'll upgrade.

Marrone might get more out of him. We'll see.

Main thing is getting the same five guys to play together for and extended period of time. They haven't had cohesion on that line for years.
I sense they will too. However will it be Campbell?

I wouldn't mind a Diggs signing, very good WR and if he can play nice is a huge upgrade.

I have been back and forth on it, but i think could be a big piece of the puzzle.

Cancer.

Diggs could be a pain in the ass. But all I care about is if he’s a pain in the ass for the opposing defense. And in all fairness he was a good soldier for the Texans last season from Day 1 all the way through his injury. Being cast out of Buffalo and into a complementary role in Houston, along with his ACL injury and subsequent dry market, maybe it’s humbled him. Not in a million years would I have imagined Diggs entertaining the idea of playing for New England, or the Pats org considering it too, but it might just be the right place at the right time for both parties. He was already mentoring the young receivers in Houston. Let’s see what he can do here. This of course is assuming he’s here in earnest and not to try to drum up interest from other teams. Edelman is a recent example of a guy coming off an ACL tear at age 31 who came back strong for his age 32 season. Here’s hoping if Diggs does sign with us that he can follow in those footsteps as well.

I do wonder how much going to another team, and basically being the WR2-3 there, and then blowing out his knee after that does to his mentality, realizing he's not getting any younger. I guess we'll find out.

I went back to look at Diggs’ numbers and it was better than I remembered. He did well for himself in those 8 games that he played while sharing targets with Collins and Dell, two young and exciting WRs in their own right. It’s worth noting Dell missed 1 game in Week 4 and Collins missed Diggs’ final 3 games Weeks 6-8. In that Week 1-8 stretch, Diggs served as the team’s WR2 behind Collins who was having a monster start to the season until his own injury, and Diggs stepped in to the WR1 role in his absence.

Nico Collins: 5 g, 45 tgt, 32 rec, 567 yds, 3 TD
Stefon Diggs: 8 g, 64 tgt, 47 rec, 496, 3 TD
Tank Dell: 7 g, 38 tgt, 24 rec, 229 yds, 2 TD

Even with these two receivers, along with Dalton Schultz and Joe Mixon who also took their share in the passing game, Diggs was on a 17 game pace of 100 rec, 1,054 yds, and 6 TD. It was evident up until the injury that the guy could still play. How he looks after his recovery remains to be seen. But I could see a world where he performs with the Pats at a similar pace, albeit with a much larger share of the targets.

Take Curran with a grain of salt, but his report that Pats were wary of the demands a vet like Adams would put on a young QB certainly rules out a *****y diva like Diggs as well

and then diggs comes in for a visit lol.......so much for curran

Is Curran toast ? Looks like he has no Intel or any inside men. Perry is also extremely silent these days.
He's been in free fall since his mole got fired after the Buffalo game. Pull all his chips in on that particular hand, and shocker, no one from Foxboro will talk to him anymore.

Them's the breaks.

I know I've mentioned his name on other threads but why not Greg Dortch? He's not an X but he's a way better version of Pop IMO.

Cards just tendered him at 3.3mil

I'd say he's worth 5mil easy.

Trade out of 4. Receive 10 and 41 from the Bears. They take Travis Hunter.

We take Kelvin Banks Jr. and Jayden Higgins.

With our 38 pick we take the stud RB from UNC, OhMy Mr. Hampton.

All the sudden we have a legit NFL offense.

O Hampton shys away from Pass Blocking that can get a QB killed. One of the kid's from Ohio State or Kaleb Johnson please.

Also he's slow.
Rhamondre Stevenson but can't pass block.

Small trade-down from 38 or 41 for an extra Day 3 pick(s) this year & next year; then take TreVeyon Henderson... And in the 3rd round take Higgins' teammate Jaylin Noel (or Jack Bech) & OT Anthony Belton.

You trade down guys make me laugh. It's all make believe right now so why settle for less. I accept it's a reasonable possibility but I wish for more.

I want the best player at 4 (hopefully Hunter or Carter) and I'm hoping we can also trade up from 38 to somewhere in the 20s for Josh Simmons if he falls that far.

To me that makes way more sense than trading down from 4 just to get an extra day 2 pick.

But I dream big and don't want to just settle for quantity over quality.
