The way the league is today, any team has a chance because the rosters are so bad across the league. The Eagles got a clear path to get back to the Super Bowl after the Cowboys, 49ers and Lions imploded. The Commanders at least had a shot. The Bills are hanging on for dear life as the rest of the AFC is so bad.
With that said, there are differences between this team and 2001's team. Going into 2001, this team had core players that were established such as Drew Bledsoe, Terry Glenn, Ty Law, Willie McGinest, Lawyer Milloy, Ted Johnson (although declining), Teddy Bruschi and Troy Brown to a lessor extent. Gonzalez is probably the only guy worth mentioning on this current team.
