It’s because they don’t want to win. You do, but Vrabel Wolf, Cowden, and Streicher don’t. They just want to save money so they can spend it on beach homes and vacations. They aren’t even at the office working right now, they are on vacation.
I wasn’t saying them.

Interesting that the Pats seem to not be active in trade market. They value every draft pick and I suspect it indicates they do not see a quick turn around on the horizon.
The teams active in trades seem to be going for a rapid improvement

He was listed at 250 in college (and looked every bit that big) and weighed 252 at the combine.

Not sure where the rumors of 230 comes from.
Just what I have heard being reported. I have no idea nor do I care. Plenty of guys can punch above their weight class.

Would really like to see them make a run at Becton. 35 5/8" arm length, 7ft. wing span. 6'7" tall 350lbs, athletic for size, 25 years old. Has a year under a talented Philly offensive line and coach. I don't know if there are any red flags on him but man if Doug Marrone can get this guy to play you could hit the jackpot.
He played with the Jets and was terrible at LT and RT. PHI moved him to RG last year and he turned it around, but it's not like he was an all pro. Onwenu, despite the disdain for him on here, is probably still a better RG and contract mechanics make it not worth it to move on from him to sign Becton for that spot. It's a tough projection to think he'd now all of a sudden be good enough at OT and LG would be a new position for him.

I don't hate the idea of signing him, trying him at LT and if it flops you just move him to RG next year when Onwenu's deal is easy to move on from. Becton was worse than Lowe at OT with the Jets though, so it's risky. People like the idea of Becton because he's massive but it's kind of a tough fit anywhere but RG at this point.

Landry is very good against the run. But he's not a DE. He's an OLB.
would you mind elaborating? Ive seen a lot of people on the site with this sentiment and I don’t get it. I thought Vrabel runs an attacking 4 man front and Landry is an edge rusher. Wouldn’t that make him a DE in that system?

He’s certainly not an off the ball linebacker and we don’t play a 3-4 anymore. I know this is semantics but I expect that we run a 4-2-5 nickel more than any other defense and he’s a better fit in the 4 than the 2 of that defense.

If I’m wrong I’d be happy to learn the explanation.

I think it would be too hard to expect everyone who posts here to honor the purpose of those threads with such criteria.

No kidding, threads all spin back to one of a couple topics in here.

I have no clue how they expect to spend the 70+ million dollars we still have in cap space. Or why they wouldn't see obvious holes that they should be improving right now.

"According to a source, the Patriots are currently interested on bringing the veteran wideout aboard. However, Kupp’s asking price at the moment is a bit too steep.

It’s certainly possible another team - and there are reportedly five in the mix - will meet the former Super Bowl MVP’s contract demands. For now, the Patriots are content to see if Kupp alters his stance."

Picture a simple 4-3

Now move one of the OLBers closer to the line of scrimmage on one edge and move the other 2 LBs behind the the dline covering some gaps. Landrys the one you move closer to the line.

Someone smarter will have to explain how this trickles down when in nickel and other situations. But it's my understanding the above is Vrabel's preferred 4-3.

It’s a bit Krafty to me.

Wait til Gonzalez, and Mayes contracts come up.
Patriots: the price is a bit too high
Kupp: well I prefer being on the west coast, so...

It's negotiation. Pats want a lower price, Kupp says he likes the west coast more in order to push the Pats to up their offer.

I will have to watch it tonight, but my guess is that it really hurt Kraft that Mayo failed. I think they genuinely liked him, and look at his failure as their failure.

As well they should, because it was

So far so good. They are not a trade away from a Championship so keep the picks and build with the draft.
