Sooo many solid or at least decent free agents still on the market. I don't know why free agency has come to such a screeching halt
I think part of it is that once you get past the phase where it's a big contract worth just jumping at, now you really get into the nitty gritty of vetting out situations. A lot of these guys will end up with shorter term or even one year deals now which sets them up to hit the market again shortly and they want to make sure thy set themselves to play well leading into it.

Like take NYG EDGE Azeez Ojulari for example... he probably has some interest as a situational pass rusher, but he might want a chance to play more of an every down role and increase his value. He's going to probably want some face time with coaches to talk scheme and role, whereas someone like Josh Sweat was just signing for as much money as possible so who really cares.

At this stage you'll have players take visits more and actually get to know the teams they're signing with. Talk through the depth chart and scheme and how they fit. Decide if they're a personality match with coaches, etc.

Not that projections are perfect, but Bill Barnwell projected Keenan Allen at $6-10M year. Can someone explain why I should be more excited to pay Kupp up to two times that range as has been suggested? Similar age. Similar size and skill set at this stage of their careers. Both good vet presences. Feels like if you're looking at them as imperfect stop gaps, better to sign Allen and put the extra money towards something else, either a flier on a younger receiver or maybe it pushes a deal for an OL they're after over the top.

Agree with this. Allen's a lot slower than he used to be, but still runs good routes and catches the ball.

Clubs might also be waiting to see how their draft boards are looking to see if they even want the level of vets still available.

Wow! I finally finished catching up to this thread. I started 3 days ago and skipped some pages early.

I'm sure there's some of that. I still think we're a "tier" or two above where that starts to come into play. The guys out there now are still legit starter level in a lot of places. I think once you get into camp competition, fringe roster players or situational players is when you start factoring in the draft board more heavily.

Commanders are going to be an interesting team to watch next season. Ran into a buzzsaw in Philly but they're in good shape.

If Cole Strange is officially the new center, then that leaves a hole at left guard. Fortunately, several guards are still available in free agency, such as Teven Jenkins or Mekhi Becton.

I hope that Sow bounces back and wins the job. That would be a very nasty O-line.. with Sow, Strange, and Onwenu in the middle.

Are the Steelers ascared that A.R. is going to the Vikes ?
Is that why they signed Rudolph ?

Is this the team that will overpay the most for Joe Milton ?

On paper it would also be a very bad OL. Sow sucked last year and while he showed a little promise the year before, he still wasn't good.

Who needs Kupp? Some on here still seem to think that a 6th round midget out of Liberty is the future of the franchise. No offence to young Pop, but as long as he remains key to your offence then you have no offence which will worry a functioning NFL defence.
People said the same thing about Edelman going into the 2013 season.

You're confusing Sow with Mafi. Sow played very well as a rookie and showed a TON of promise despite the coaching situation.

Not one person here has said Douglas should be their #1 receiver, and everyone here believes they need not one, but at least 2 WR’s to have a 1&2.

No. Everyone doesn't agree that the Pats need at least 2 WRs. The ones who believe that are people who want change for the sake of change and think that they're God's Gift to Roster building..
