What’s our plan at Wide Receiver?

That why I didn't want to continue to argue w/ you but rather understand.

Those are very reasonable dollars for Kupp.
Yeah I don’t see him taking what Hopkins did from Baltimore, but I sincerely doubt anyone pays him more than 2/22. I’d do it. Especially if the cap hit in year two is manageable.

With guys like Kupp who can produce when healthy, are solid guys, but are on precipice of retirement i'd go higher than 2y/$22m but with more incentives if he hits games, snaps, catches, yards, etc.

Hes a 1000yd receiver if he plays 17 games but he hasn't done that in 3 years....

Maybe a Kupp' signing is not a bad idea, assuming WRs market is so short.
If Carter/Hunter is not available we should find a partner to trade down. If we stay with 4th I just wondering if Warren is not the right pick ( I cannot see any WR worth that pick ). Then bolster OL at any cost in round 2. Will Campbell is in the game with 4th but I am not convinced it is a good option.

Like the incentives idea. If they give him a path to, say, $18MM but hitting it meant he had an incredible resurgence…I’d be thrilled for them to pay him

It’s like we’re making every excuse to say no don’t take on a legit wr lol.
Because the answer is either Pop or Boutte on this board. In terms of the team I have no clue what they’re targeting other than Godwin, who resigned. Maybe they think they can fix Polk and Baker. Who knows.

I personally believe both of those players are mediocre at best.

Hope to be wrong.

You hit the nail on the head. Many fans on this board are delusional into thinking Drake Maye is good enough to produce with below average talent at WR like Tom Brady did. Recipe for disaster.
Brady never made WRs who sucked before here make productive.

boutte is showing potential to learn how to play in the NFL and will be a serviceable member of a WR corps......don't know if he's a member of the top or the bottom of said corps yet......if he continues to arc in the right direction, he's a good depth piece at least

i am HOPING pop's struggles have been due to changing OCs and poor coaching, but I am losing patience with him quicker

PFF

WR1. TETAIROA MCMILLAN, ARIZONA

Big board rank: 3

McMillan has All-Pro potential because of his length, athleticism and football intelligence. He's a smooth criminal of a receiver who was the focal point of Arizona's offense. He is a unique talent who deserves to be considered in the top 10 of the 2025 NFL Draft.

I was all on him until I watched all of his targets and then I watched all of Jayden Higgins targets and I don't think that Tet is better than Jayden Higgins. They may be equal but Tet is not a full round better imo

We’ve thrown massive amounts of money at star defensive talent already in FA. Our defense should be strong next year, very excited about that.

On offense, we just signed a very reliable starting RT.

Now…the wide receiver position. What is this front office going to do to solve this WR curse?

Higgins is franchised, we already missed the boat on a couple of big names who were available.

Our franchise QB needs weapons. We cannot rely on him to put up pro bowl numbers with JAGs and castoffs like Tom Brady did at various times.

We have a whole slew of number 3-4 WRs including the new addition of class clown Mack Hollins.

Most of this forum seems dead set on drafting a LT at 4 overall, even though there is no one talented enough in the draft that is worthy of that pick.

So we go WR when? In Round 2 where we’ve been the epitome of anemic ?

It’s not fair to Maye to expect huge development without investing in a high quality receiver. I hope the patriots have a plan
At this point the plan appears to be - ensure we have both one of the league’s best punters as well as exceptional special teams play. Could be a LOT of 3rd and longs coming up!

I am sure there is one I just don't see it. I do think going after Higgins, Aiyuk, DK would not be the right move, imo
