Godwin left 20 million on the table NOT to come here...

I don't see that as a negative. He recognized a comfortable situation and preferred not to upset his life for a few more dollars in an unfamiliar situation.

Yup, that is the unknown. You nailed it. Also they might have a 2 year plan so we can not see clearly yet. Marrone was working with the BC guys all year so he knows what is out there and what to do.

Robinson is not a big enough upgrade to Lowe. They are waiting on T Smith as a stopgap, or J Wills? Maybe a 2nd tier guy as a stopgap but I don't know who, and there would no reason to delay in signing a 2nd tier guy. Still a mystery.
Agreed. All the major FA are already signed being we got the biggest one in Williams. But this brings me back to what I was saying last week on how lowe will manage to stick around becuase of the uncertainty. I've heard that lowe is solid as a pass blocker put is a ****ty run blocker. I can imagine we head into even OTAs with not at least another LT.

Breer, who I think has very few sources, is reporting that they want Robinson on a heavily incentive based deal because Robinson is talented but his attitude is like Trent Brown. That would explain why Robinson has not signed. Marrone knows Robinson.

Stanley would have been ideal.
So Trent Brown without Trent…..

Interesting.

He apparently was never going anywhere.. he did an interview with NFL network yesterday he said he never wanted to leave Tampa said his family is settled in here and wanted to retire a buccaneer.

I agree with you.. the only reservations I had on Stanley was injury history. 36 games missed In his career. Trent Brown we've seen the best of him when locked in 2018.. and the worst of him. Lowe is the lucky winner in all of this..

Line Henry out wide, run the Wing T baby

I truly think you'll see Kupp......maybe a WR drafted early, maybe one later also.......but I truly think they also want to see what the young guys can do with a valid coaching staff, which is why they are bringing in a couple actual professional, team first vets.......I wouldn't be surprised to see a TE drafted earlier rather than later as well......

Speak English
Ok

You don’t waste the number 4 overall pick on a tackle (soon to be guard) with way below average physical measurables. You draft elite athletes/playmakers who are generic freaks.

Dante Scarnecchia said when you're drafting in the top five, the adage is that you draft players who sack the quarterback or score touchdowns.

I don't want Hunter OR Tet.
I don't think either 1 is what people think is A PROFESSIONAL FB player.

Hunter may be good, but he will NEVER BE the 2 way player he was in Colorado, which is a weak ass division.
I swear some folks think he's an honest to God 2 way every play player.
Seriously? He'll never be that guy, it's not possible in the Pros.
No fkn chance. And Tet beat up ****ies, and did just OK vs REAL talent
Will these 2 guys be good players? Probably, does anyone REALLY THINK TET OR Hunter are going to be perennial All-Pros? Isn't that idiocy is what's expected?
Hill is a fkn cancer, and a punk.
Who are the perennial all pros in this draft?

From what I read Carter and Hunter are the only two in that category.

Since 2011, on average 1/3rd of 1st round picks make an AP team.

While this draft does seem light on "generational" talent, that does not mean it is short on players who might make a AP team once or twice.

As a fan of this team we should take solace in that.

There's an expectation at 4 that we're going to get someone amazing. A lot of the time, as has been shown, the 4 pick busts out. Let's just get a solid, blue chip player with a high floor, whether that's Hunter, Campbell, Warren, etc. and I think we'll feel fine as long as they can play.

What we HAVE to do is get a LT - we have no one. That has to be our 1st rounder.
Best idea - trade down to 10-16. Take Banks, and use the extra high 2nd to trade up, even to the low 1st round to take a swing at the best WR we think will work. (they're all a crapshoot) With that sort of trade down, we may even get a player thrown in too.

There's such a diverse ranking of LT's - a lot of scouts are not sold that Cambell & Banks are the 2 best LT's. You could flip this, and pick a WR at 8-10 (Tet may be there), and get one of the highly touted guys like Simmons, Milum, Zabel, Conerly in the low 1st.
