Thanks for the clarification. Sadly, I might still think of you as Jay New Mexico.

I realize that this makes me look like an idiot. but I am ok with it
Fine by me, I love Breaking Bad

I understand. Some people get disappointed. We will see what happens in FA. Probably be similar to the Commanders approach in 2024.
Look, I’ll be *****ing with everyone if a week from now if we come out doing very little again.

But doing it now before the period even starts is stupid, just wait until real moves are happening before having these reactions.

It wasnt huge, 16mill, but more than I want to pay a 32yr old guard, then probably lose him because they aren't going to give him the last big contract.

You’re right, that’s not bad. I’m surprised that the Patriots didn’t make a bid for him.

But come June/July, if we remain with the most cap space at beginning of the season, I swear that I will stop being nice with this administrion, and I will, sirs and madams, I WILL become an poster so vengeful regarding Kraft and whoever is managing the team, that the devil himself will be like "this guy's crazy". I swear, no thread complimenting Kraft will ever be safe around here
You have a lot of company. There will always be posters who have that view.

Yep Robinson and Godwin on Day 1 aren’t the sexiest picks but are upgrades and add draft flexibility. Christmas Day is almost here.

I would focus on the defense, the top DL, edge, linebackers, and secondary. Other than RB the offensive market sucks. Draft the LT and try to trade for Conklin at RT.

They should go where the talent is, defensive line, maybe some linebackers. Don’t waste the $$$ on mediocre players at positions of need.
Yes, don't waste the big $$$$ on mediocre players at positions of need.

The idea that any second guessing of Pats is “complaining” is bs
Its what the homers and polyannas on this board weaponize to make themselves feel good

Crying that “ No one wants to play here” isn’t “ second guessing,” it’s crying. It’s what *****es and crybabies do, there is nothing “ constructive” about it.

I hope they do both. I think they’re going to get more bang for the buck on the defensive side. But I think we have to have someone at LT from free agency to compete with the rookie.

This trade is good for the Carter/Hunter falling to 4 movement. I’m guessing they did indicate to Myles they’d be taking a QB. Makes it more likely Cleveland is aiming for a QB at 2.

They definitely would be less likely to take Carter.
I'm trying to figure out if they can even afford the second pick. I think they might have to trade it away for future picks to save some money. They Dorian Thompson until Watson is ready to try again even if that means all year.

If they aren’t aggressive in free agency then people will be justified in giving them **** about it. Even though areas of need have been depleted there are good players on the market, and they can improve the team significantly, even if it isn’t at positions people want them to fill.
AGGRESSIVE means signing who pindividual posters want signed. AGRRESSIVE means overpaying for shiny objects.

let's wee where we are in a week. I expect several 5-7 top additions, primarily on Defense. And, yes, we will sign a mid-level TE and RB. Obviously, we will sign players on the OL and a WR. But they may not be potential all-pros. HOWEVER, they will be serious improvements over what we have.

Lots of players have re-signed with their teams (as is always the case). A lot of players have been and will be waived (as is always the case)

Let's see where we are in a week or two.

I think our D will look a lot better. I think we probably find a decent enough WR. I think our OL might still be ****ed though.

Cam Robinson makes the most sense at this point.
other than the fact that he isn't good. He gets abused by good edge rushers and is a terrible run blocker. His final exams before heading into his free agent offseason:

Week 18: 9 pressures, 1 sack allowed
Div Round: 12 pressures, 1 sack allowed

You unilaterally decide what can and can not be discussed?

You may not like it but its true that players who have a choice do not want to come here. Generally it is true and factual.
Not complaining.
Now up for discussion is how does the team change that

Disagree. Aggressive means identifying the players you want and going all out to get them. That doesn’t mean overpaying them, it means making really good offers to them and making sure they know how you will use them and how that benefits them and the team. Aggressive means adding good players and improving the team, not overpaying mediocre players to address needs. Aggressive means making the most of your free agent opportunities, and not just sitting back and hoping they come to you.
