There’s been like 2-3 of those total so far.

Moves before the FA period aren’t conventional. Usually has to be perfect circumstances. You can’t ever expect to make moves before the tampering window starts.
Sorry, but im pretty sure that's not true

It has been like this for a few years already

That's what Im saying

140 million of cap space

Its A LOT OF MONEY. We can do A LOT.

But I'll wait till free agency ends before i start complaining much. Early signs are not strong, but day 1 of free agency is the key landmark/day
Yes. NFL front office people are saying this years FA is less than desirable. I've warmed up to quality over quantity.. getting good players who fit what Vrabel is trying to do.. Landry at LB is one player in particular I can see being a patriots type player.

I can't really say much about the quality of free agency, to be honest

I can attest that we were literally onr given game by Buffalo away from being the actual worst team of the whole year last year.

So a bare bones market is good for us, because we SUCK ASS

I understand. Some people get disappointed. We will see what happens in FA. Probably be similar to the Commanders approach in 2024.

I’ve been saying for months now, 2 qbs will be taken before NE picks.
They’re definitely taking a QB… they need to move on from the Watson era badly and a fresh rookie is the easiest way to do it even if they still are paying Watson for two years. I have to assume they’ll take Sanders, but with their analytics-driven front office, I wouldn’t be that surprised if they went for someone like Dart instead.

Between the Titans and Giants, one of them will definitely take a QB, and if they don’t, a different team will trade up with them to do so.

They would have needed to beat that offer which means a 2026 third rounder. That’s a valuable pick. Yes he would’ve been great to have for a few years but they want to build long-term, not short-term, and he is expensive as well.

There are other solid younger guards in free agency who will cost no pick.
No!
Pats 2026,4th rounder beats bears 26 4th rounder most likely
So 4th would gave gotten it done

Might be content being knocked out of the playoffs in Wildcard Round every season.
Don't know if he is married with children (an Al Bundy reference for you old heads). If he does have a family they might not want to move.

Quality meaning what TYPE of fit will he be? Locker room fit.. leadership.. things like that.

No!

No, because KC has no idea what each team’s record is going to be in 2025. Additionally they probably preferred to trade him out of the AFC, so the Pats would need to meaningfully top the Bears’ offer.

They should go where the talent is, defensive line, maybe some linebackers. Don’t waste the $$$ on mediocre players at positions of need.

Fair, but hopefully Vrabel brings also that leadership trait, which offsets a bit. Even still, what we had as locker room culture seemed to be so awful, that improvement in that also doesnt seem, to me, that hard.

I hope this doesnt come off as complaining or whatever. It's fine as is, my expectations have shifted and thus my op today.

We will see come day of free agency. Then there are no excuses. We need to be aggressive as ****, otherwise i will be mad for real

pretty much see above. We can improve everywhere and have money to spare (i can be wrong here, we'll see). Day 1 of free agency im back with more revolt

Most likely Pats will have worse record than Bears in 25
I think Pats 4th would have gotten it done
Seriously doubt they care about trading a guard within conference
I think it was a big miss by Pats

The idea that any second guessing of Pats is “complaining” is bs
Its what the homers and polyannas on this board weaponize to make themselves feel good

Vrabel is the best thing that's happening to the organization since brady left. Honestly.. we hit rock bottom last season with Mayo. We will be aggressive my man.. no worries there... opportunity and $$$# is what we can offer guys.. Vrabel yes brings the leadership but he also will have guy like Bentley, dugger and others who will bring in to resonate to the locker room.

Love rumors like these, they aren’t going to sign anyone unless the are the highest bidder. Glad they are at least rumored to be the highest bidder.

No really good receiver is going to be available to the pats without some combination of injury history, expensive contract, or high draft pick cost in a trade. Personally I’m fine with Godwin’s injury history (if the team is), and his potential high salary because he doesn’t also cost a pick to acquire.
Another example of the pick 2 magic triangle except somewhat in reverse....

Pats - Injury history, expensive contract, high draft pick - Pick two.
Project Management - Quality, cost, time - Pick two.
Wife - Looks, Brains, Sanity - Pick two.

This is a good observation, puts even more pressure on the Bengals.

Also probably raises the price Higgins asks from them. If they’re gonna pay Chase let’s say $42M APY then Higgins will demand he’s at least close to that, like $35M. Doubt Cincinnati will do that, and even if they did, $77M APY tied up into two wide receivers is asinine.

Patriots should get him for next to nothing to save Cincy from themselves.
Chase is looking at 50 mill a season now as well.

Where are all the crazy trades I was told would all definitely happen this weekend? lol
