Offseason player acquisition thread

Who’s trading up to 4 and for whom? Problem is every other team is viewing the draft the same way — Hunter and Carter, and everyone else has flaws — and likely won’t feel the need to trade draft assets to move up. Or we’ll get a significantly smaller return than expected - like trading down from 4 to 6 and only picking up a 5th round pick.

We have to see what the draft market for QBs looks like in a month and a half. Even at this time in 2021 if you told anyone that Trey Lance would be the third pick in the draft, they would have looked at you like you had three heads. At this point last year, Bo Nix, JJ McCarthy, and Michael Penix were still considered second round picks in most quarters.

Word is Jaxson Dart is gaining in popularity. Could he become a massive overreach like Trey Lance became? Who knows? But it could happen. We hear conflicting reports about whether Sheddeur Sanders is either falling down the draft or locking into a top 5 pick.

This isn’t directed at you Jay, but the crying, *****ing, and moaning in this forum is so bad that I would euthanize the entire fan base if it was a pet. And I speak from experience on this as my dog is currently dying of cancer, and his demeanor and happiness is considerably higher than that of Patriot fans. We now have a franchise QB and a good head coach and coaching staff, and Patriot fans are screaming like a stuck pig that has been condemned to rooting for the Jets for eternity. Seriously everyone STFU with the whining and crying, and all of the “ woes be the destiny of our team” ********. Go root for the Minnesota Lynx if the rebuild is too much for your sensitive little tummies, they are the WNBAChampions, so you can feel good about being a champion too. You can wear your Lynx Championship hat, with your Ohio State Varsity Jacket, your Celtics sweatpants, and your Dodger blue Sox, and with that outfit you will feel like a winner again, even though you had nothing to do with any of it.

Free agency starts tomorrow, try to enjoy it, it’s the beginning of a new team, and they will become winners, even if their fans are anything but that.
I will say this friend

the world is kind of in disarray right now

complaining is not going away any time soon

Perhaps, the disarray is caused, in no small part, by soft, dumb people who complain too much.
Thank god for smart strong geniuses like you who willingly accept mismanagement and sub mediocre performance.
That makes the world great
No one on a fans message board should ever complain about a team soon to be a bottom five team for third year in a row and non competitive for 6th year in a row. A team that is widely viewed as a terrible place to play.
Just suck it up and sing praise to Kraft

Grievance is the driving force in this country. The wealthiest country in human history and all we hear is how bad we have it.

Sanders is definitely falling, and Dart doesn’t have the athleticism to rise any further than the most optimistic mocks have him. ( Jeremiah-To the Steelers)

This has been a terrible Pre-FA so far.

They have shown to the whole NFL that this is a rebuilding team, with no ambitions for Vrabel's first year.

I am very patient man,
Lol.

If it's any consolotion, yours is not the only country that loves to complain and not do anything meaningful for change. Trust me on this

if I can be so bold to intrude into american politics, I honestly think you guys lack proper education (in the most social-economic meaning possible - so a deep discussion here which i wont go in any deeper in this thread) and it finally caught up to you

Again, things will change as time goes along. I guarantee you QBs will go much higher than people think. They almost always do. Teams are desperate for QBs and talk themselves into believing QB prospects are far better than they really are.

Are you saying the “management” that created a national debt of $37T was great?
For perspective, total combined income in America is less than $15T per year.
The combined market value of all owner occupied homes in America is $35T
Americans have willingly committed to $14T in mortgage debt and our government has committed us to 2.5 times more than that unwillingly.

Could be, but right now Sanders is falling.

I

Not sure if this is satire or not.

I’m not sure how you want us to sign guys before FA even starts.
Just don't understand why people are mad that the Pats aren't using their precious draft picks for some of these salary dumps. A lot of these guys are going to be cut soon when they don't get traded before tomorrow and then the Pats can get them by paying more than other teams and not have to surrender any draft capital. When you're rebuilding from the ground up, your draft picks are pretty important.

Absolutely this is one of the problems

But i can't not poke the bear just a bit: You guys do need to understand that, as great the US is, it's still ONE country in the world. That is my main "problem" with your education system (among other things, but obviosuly im far from an actual expert)

I wanted ONE big trade before Free Agency

Something that would at least put it out there: This team wants to win.

I think Cooper Kupp is a good example. Why send a pick for him when he's guaranteed to be cut very soon? Then they just need to pay more than the next highest offer if they want him. Additionally, why trade for him now if they think they might be able to get Chris Godwin? Godwin is better. I wouldn't be trying to sacrifice a pick for Kupp on a bloated contract before I even got the chance to sign Godwin.

Landry being another example. People were shouting to trade for him, they didn't. What happened to him? He got cut. What about Jonathan Allen? Same thing.

I am talking about Patriots. Not the US
