Or trade down and take Simmons.
Only if we sign a decent stopgap OT in FA
Simmons may need a little time to heal properly.
I think he is the best OT in this draft.
If he looks good at his Pro Day then trade down and grab him

Draft Hunter at 4 if he falls and come back up in the first round for A tackle if we don’t get a starting tackle in free agency.

1) How many OT's drafted at bottom of the first in a MUCH, MUCH better year for OT's were good NFL starters last year, or project to be good OT's this year.

2) Why do you believe that we will be able to trade back into the first to get a starting OT. We were in the same situation last year and couldn't trade back in top 8 any of the top EIGHT OT's, not that most in the bottom third should be starters.

How Wise and Tavaii next.
???
Wise is indeed a free agent, one that we extend at low compensation, o more likely just not re-sign.

Tavai is signed through 2027.

This has been a terrible Pre-FA so far.

They have shown to the whole NFL that this is a rebuilding team, with no ambitions for Vrabel's first year.

And, as always, the some of best players (or some of the most sought-after) in the NFL are being retained or traded before the FA market even starts - but then again, it's been pretty trendy for awhile that whatever comes to the market has a problem or two, the fact is that unless you have a top 5 QB in the books, you almost always have cap sapce.

So, heading into the 12 of march, with 3 days, left, if nothing changes, we have to sell players for:

- Vrabel is indeed a great HC, even though he picks up one hell of a legacy behind staff-wise
- The consensus 2nd worst place to work for, accordding to the players association
- a terrible roster with 1 blue chip player (Gonzales), 1 promising young QB
- a bumbling, old, appereantly indeed cheap owner
- Cold weather
- High taxes
- Some questionable cultural differences (hey... blame it on the NBA/LeBron)

There is probably something I missed too

then, so i don't become known as a full on hater, ill just keep beating the drum of "we can't really wait for things to come to our laps, at some point we need to be aggressive." Reading the forum, it's clear that many are still thinking it's going to be easy to spend 140M in cap space in free agency well and that things will be okay

Maybe. But that would break a almost 5 year trend of bad decision makings when it comes to roster building, coming indeed from the BB days.

I am very patient man, there is still a lot of water to run down, and it's way to early to tell the flow of this river's season.

But come June/July, if we remain with the most cap space at beginning of the season, I swear that I will stop being nice with this administrion, and I will, sirs and madams, I WILL become an poster so vengeful regarding Kraft and whoever is managing the team, that the devil himself will be like "this guy's crazy". I swear, no thread complimenting Kraft will ever be safe around here

You left out the most miserable fan base in all of professional sports.

I can't be more euphemistic than my last point man...

This isn’t directed at you Jay, but the crying, *****ing, and moaning in this forum is so bad that I would euthanize the entire fan base if it was a pet. And I speak from experience on this as my dog is currently dying of cancer, and his demeanor and happiness is considerably higher than that of Patriot fans. We now have a franchise QB and a good head coach and coaching staff, and Patriot fans are screaming like a stuck pig that has been condemned to rooting for the Jets for eternity. Seriously everyone STFU with the whining and crying, and all of the “ woes be the destiny of our team” ********. Go root for the Minnesota Lynx if the rebuild is too much for your sensitive little tummies, they are the WNBAChampions, so you can feel good about being a champion too. You can wear your Lynx Championship hat, with your Ohio State Varsity Jacket, your Celtics sweatpants, and your Dodger blue Sox, and with that outfit you will feel like a winner again, even though you had nothing to do with any of it.

Free agency starts tomorrow, try to enjoy it, it’s the beginning of a new team, and they will become winners, even if their fans are anything but that.

When you have the chance to trade a 26 fourth rounder for an all pro guard you jump on it.
But we do have the best lighthouse in the league and no one else comes close! And the largest outdoor scoreboard that is 50% occupied with commercial advertising.
So there is that.

The BOTTOM LINE is that we could stand to get FIVE new players for the Ol, keeping only
STRANGE
J ANDREWS (or BROWN)
ONWENU
ROBINSON and
WALLACE

Campbell is probably the best choice. The issue is that I personally do not like the idea of drafting a top RT so that we can move him to LT. (certainly not with a top 5 pick) The combine did NOT make Membau a LT. Yes, he is a much better prospect at RT than Wallace. But isn't the issue the same? In the end the choice is between measurables and on-the-field play against actual opponents. Campbell played excellent LT against the best defenders in college.

AN ASIDE
Who we should draft really depends on who else we add. Do we add a center? do we add a RT? do we add a LG? Also, the team must have an evaluation of Wallace Is he close to being able to be counting on at RT as a starter or backup?
Draft Campbell

Drafting Campbell is cool. Drafting him at 4 is a huge mistake. Trade down a couple spots, grab some extra assets, he’ll be there.
Who’s trading up to 4 and for whom? Problem is every other team is viewing the draft the same way — Hunter and Carter, and everyone else has flaws — and likely won’t feel the need to trade draft assets to move up. Or we’ll get a significantly smaller return than expected - like trading down from 4 to 6 and only picking up a 5th round pick.

Teams go QB crazy on draft day, some team may have a hardon for Hunter. There are usually deals to be made.

I

Not sure if this is satire or not.

I’m not sure how you want us to sign guys before FA even starts.
Trading and setting up for FA

EDIT - Also, nice! That's the exact tone i was aiming for
