Seems like a bad job by his agent. Patriots would have paid him 20% more.
It’s been surprising how many free agents have decided to pass on free agency the past couple of years.

Yeah I don’t think Vrabel will care that Strange was a first rounder, if he’s not gonna work then he’s not gonna work. No sunk cost fallacy. I also agree that if Marrone and Scar really like Campbell’s intellect and work ethic and think that makes up for his arm length and wingspan, and want him, I’m not gonna question them.
Yeah, the thing with Campbell is that he’s not really boom-or-bust. It’s not like he’s going to be a good LT or flame out. In reality he will either be a good LT or a solid one with some limitations. If he’s good and overcomes his limitations then you’re in great shape; if he can’t overcome his limitations then you can always convert him to a guard in a year or two.I will be fine with them taking Campbell. He can buy them a season at LT then move inside if they can get a better LT next year. They are going to have to invest heavily in OL over the next couple of seasons anyway, so this gets them started.

Campbell plus improvement at guard would at least give them solid play - with improvement elsewhere on the team as well, they can end up being a .500 or so team next year, which would put them around the 13th-17th pick, which is a prime zone for taking a new tackle prospect.
I’m kind of at a spot where if Travis Hunter falls to 4, you grab him because he can be a high end WR which is a big need. If he doesn’t but Carter does, see if you can trade down a bit - someone will want Carter. If neither guy makes it, see if you can trade down with a team wanting the second QB. If you can’t get a trade with a QB needy team then take Campbell or Membou. And you feel fine about it because Hunter, Campbell and Membou would all be guys who are generally “worth” the #4 pick but also are a team need, so it’s not like you reached to fill a need.I agree. I think Campbell can be a better left tackle for them in 25’ than any of the remaining free agents. He will be there at #4 and deciding to go that route frees up any $$$ they want to spend for other positions. And given the dearth of good free agent tackles they may even want to double dip and move up to take Simmons, Conerly, ir Grey Zabel with their 2nd pick if possible. After that there is nothing at Left Tackle in this draft.
In Stanleys case it makes no sense to leave a team so close to an AFC Championship for 20% more money. It’s been surprising how many free agents have decided to pass on free agency the past couple of years.
#4.. take it from me Triumph! In Stanleys case it makes no sense to leave a team so close to an AFC Championship for 20% more money.
NE needs to stand pat and take the best LT @ # 3. You then have the QB and LT of the future.
Oh yeah, 4th not 3rd.#4.. take it from me Triumph!

I see the sense in taking Carter if he’s there as a best player available approach but I think you’ll easily get a trade partner for him if he’s there.
Looking like it again.OL scared me in 2024. I don’t want to be scared this Fall.
I assume you mean Moore. He is placed 11th, one slot ahead of Ronnie Stanley, which is certainly interesting.2024 NFL pass rush, run stop, blocking win rate rankings

Campbell graded out pretty good here, but I am leery of Pitt OL. They have struggled to assemble a good group for some time now.
Even if Hunter or Carter falls to us, we now have a 3-alarm fire at OT and absolutely must come out of this draft with at least 1 OT starter. And given how scarce they are, I'd be looking for two and finding a way to make that happen. Campbell needs to be on the table, even if he occasionally loses a battle to a long armed edge.I’m kind of at a spot where if Travis Hunter falls to 4, you grab him because he can be a high end WR which is a big need. I think that's just foolish. The first part of your plan is fine (trading down a bit and taking a tackle) but sacrificing those other picks for yet another tackle is just unwise. Sign Moore/Robinson, trade down and take a tackle. Then go BPA from then onwards.Even if Hunter or Carter falls to us, we now have a 3-alarm fire at OT and absolutely must come out of this draft with at least 1 OT starter. Trade down far enough to acquire a 2nd rounder (7-8 range), take Campbell or Membou there, then trade up from 38 with both 2nd's to get into the middle of r1 and take the best remaining OT which could be Josh Simmons. BPA is out the window. That still leaves us with 2 high 3rds and a high 4th to address other needs.
Do you think the Chargers would accept a trade for him (depending on who they have on their OL Roster). Giving them our #4, them giving us their 1st Round Pick, 2nd Round Pick and whatever else would make that trade happen)? I don't know what their cap situation is, or will be after next season. I'm just wondering if it's something to actually look into. The Chargers don’t need to do either yet. Slater had his 5th year option picked up last April, so he’s still under contract through the 2025 season.

Probably told his agent he wanted to stay in Baltimore.Seems like a bad job by his agent. Patriots would have paid him 20% more.
