Cam Robinson is not worth the $$$$$$$$ he's going make FA. Double dip at Offensive Tackle coming we have no choice now.
“We have no choice now” are not words I want to hear when it comes to the draft.

You can’t force the draft or draft what isn’t there.

We need to draft good players at whatever position, rather than draft busts because of need.

I agree that we should never be in the position of drafting for need.

However, if we don't sign a starting LT in free agency, then we have Lowe as the starter. That situation is simply not acceptable. We trade down a bit if we can, but we would draft an LT, perhaps higher than he should be drafted.

If you believe that all of the first round LT's are draft busts, then that is your opinion. I suspect that there will be 5 OT's that won't be considered 1st round busts come the time of the draft.

So, say you believe that 3 OT's have value at 8-12. Signing the one we really like at 4 gives up value, perhaps equal to a low 2nd. Sure, we should try to avoid that and trade down a bit. HOWEVER, when you have Lowe as your starting LT, you may be forced to lose the value of 3rd or even 2nd and draft your LT.

To be somewhat obvious, if our LT is a starter and we could have had Graham, we can later discuss whether the DL was so bad that we should have decided to have Lowe as our starting LT.

Welcome Armand membou

OL scared me in 2024. I don’t want to be scared this Fall.
You can count on the Pats front office.

Get the champagne ready.

The silver lining with that scenario could be a small trade down and pick up an extra 2nd.

The Stanley loss really raises the ante to get some quality defensive FA’s especially Milton Williams, so we can focus the draft on offense.

Trade down within top 8 for a 2nd rounder, take Membou with pick 1, then trade the two 2nds to move back up to 20 and take Simmons.

This is the best plan.

If they offered MV 15 million a year, id offer Scar 45 million to come out of retirement. Im a firm believer, without Scar, the patriots have 1-2 titles at best, if any at all. Adams was a secret weapon, but Scar was by far the most under apricated member of that dynasty.

The Chargers don’t need to do either yet. Slater had his 5th year option picked up last April, so he’s still under contract through the 2025 season.
I wouldn't be surprised come week 1 if we had.
New LT
Strange LG
Brown C
Ownenu RG
Wallace RT

You don't see strange at LG or C?
I think he will compete and ultimately be the backup this year at both spots, before leaving in FA next year. Or alternatively get traded this year. There are better more reliable guards and centers than him available

I felt like prior to his injury strange was solid at LG.. it's unfortunate he hasn't been able to stay on the field. Seems like another 1st round pick going down the drain? We need "quality over quantity " this FA period... Vrabel will get guys who fit, not just the names.. he has some respected coaches on his staff especially OL marrone who's input on OL will be greatly valued. Is why I'm not turning my nose up to Campbell.

Yeah I don’t think Vrabel will care that Strange was a first rounder, if he’s not gonna work then he’s not gonna work. No sunk cost fallacy. I also agree that if Marrone and Scar really like Campbell’s intellect and work ethic and think that makes up for his arm length and wingspan, and want him, I’m not gonna question them.

Curran mentioned something that I've posted about.. Campbell is more like light who was a 2nd rounder as we all know in 01. Similar body type, arm length as well. Campbell has the techniques, the mentality and the physicality to play OT at a high level. Scar raved about him to Perry on patriots podcast. I really like Brown to take on a full time C role.. also we have the other Andrews in Jake still on the roster where so you see him project?
