I doubt Bosa would come here, and with the amount of games he misses, not sure I’d want him.

Lots of team clearing lots of salary cap space....cowboys, chargers, chiefs. There will be lots of competition for top tier UFA WRs especially.
Pats should be realistic, trade a 6th for Kooper and sign Elijah Moore from Cleveland.

At the end of the day having most cap isn’t going to make NE an attractive destination. This team is going to have to nail the draft and develop their own talent, then and only then will they get better and be a more attractive franchise for big name free agents to want to sign with. That’s the state of the team as of today, improve from within then they will come. Whether this can be done or not is the million dollar question.

They're releasing him before the league year starts, so he does have to go through waivers.

I doubt they'd do it b/c he has a $12M bonus due on March 12, but the Patriots could put in a waiver claim.

I was wrong. Never mind.

No waivers.

Then we overspend. All that cap space is meaningless if we don't spend it.

Is that how the Owner sees it?

You guys just like to be disappointed

And they love to make horrible decisions. Paying Tee Higgins like Justin Jefferson is bad enough, trading for him is complete idiocy.

I have a blockbuster 4 way trade....

DK -> Bills
Bills 1st(29th) & Pat's 2nd(38th) -> Eagles
AJ Brown & SEA 1st(18th) -> Pats
Pat's 1st(4th) -> Seahawks

Yeah, the logical part of me gets it, every year is different; FA is different than signing someone to an early deal; but paying Higgins more than JJ would feel icky.....and nevermind the trade capital

What a way to get clicks....."the Patriots are interested in _______ _______ "

They definitely need a real deal Free Safety
, but Dugger is getting paid like 15M or something, are they going to want to tie that kind of money up in another safety? Over 10% of the cap on that position?

I know, I know...."they have to spend it on someone"

Holland would be a home run, they need a true free safety in a bad way and Holland is good. He's also only 25.

Holland + Dugger seems like a pretty solid FS/SS combo. Peppers is a solid backup/rotational piece to either spot. Sign a solid CB2 and they would have a pretty good secondary.

I definitely agree that having a solid free safety would be huge for this team. The one thing I’ve read are concerns about his tackling the last few years. I haven’t seen him up close myself so I don’t know, just relaying what I’ve read.
