Abdul Carter has stress fracture

sounds like he’s good to go. My guess is the Jets take him at #7.
Jets get a player initially projected to go top 5 fall into their laps.

Player ends up getting ruined by the Jets.

Leonard Williams, Jamaal Adams, Garrett Wilson. Tale as old as time lol.

So any examples of anyone in college football having this injury and then playing well in the pros ?
What is the % ratio ?
It seems to be a rare injury for college players so that alone is not good.

Ras I Dowling was basically healthy his first 3 years of college ball.

apparently googling "nfl draft prospects with a stress fracture" will return 2,547,635,755 articles about Abdul Carter in under .02 seconds... who knew...

unless someone can remember a guy, good luck getting that question answered...

Dowling was a Stiff.

i thought it was a good pick... i liked his name... reminded me of Ra's al Ghul from the Batman comics

lol, the world was much simpler back then...

I still say top LT with our first pick

Does Carter have an injury history? or has he been fairly free of injury?
To the best of my knowledge (for what that's worth), he's had no prior injuries. And considering that he's played with this to the highest levels, he's clearly not one of those players that won't play if he's in pain or has a "Boo-Boo".

I never wanted Carter
I know what his weight says but the eye test makes him look pretty thin
He will have to depend on strictly speed in the NFL which he is good at. But I would like to see a little more beef
We will see from the Combine measurements
Had recent shoulder injury. Now foot
No Thanks
I'll Take Graham or OT with trade down
Edit: Let me clarify He is a LB not a DE
You can have other DLinemen take on blockers
He will get after the QB but not an edge setter.
If that fits your scheme then OK
Other schemes NO

It’s a tough one looks like a deep draft for the kind of defenders Vrabel wants to build.
What if we address OT in FA, then draft Graham with #4 and then move back into the 1st Round and draft Carter (especially if his condition isn't deemed serious but makes enough teams pass on him for whatever other needs, etc.)?

I heard that Abdul Carter uses recreational drugs and has a severe gambling addiction. Browns Titans and Giants should definitely stay away from such a questionable character.
LOL!! Let's get him to fall to #4.

FWIW- I have it on good authority from my peeps in State College (daughter) AC is clean as a whistle.

IMO that doesn't matter when picking in the top 5 for a rebuilding team.

It's a weird situation where the spotless guy isn't anywhere near Carter. There is a gap between Carter and Graham.
???

So, having a foot injury doesn't affect the ratings for Carter?

Carter has an injury that doesn't need surgery, Campbell doesn't hit a basic bench mark for tackles and that's a benchmark that is already on the low end of what works. Different things. Campbell is most likely going to end up a guard. And Graham as a prospect is a significant drop down.

It's basically like this, everyone considers Carter to be the cream of the crop and Graham to be solidly lesser of a prospect. Now Carter has a question mark, but aside from that he is still a more complete prospect.

fair enough

The open question for Vrabel is whether a top prospect with a question mark will be his pick.

I think not.
