If a situation arose where rham was involved in a trade to aquire a game changer on defense you wouldn't entertain it?
Sure, get an all-pro in trade! ROFL

Pass on Aiyuk, didn’t want us last year we don’t want him and his torn up knee now.

We are definitely drafting a LT
Of course. we are. Almost everyone would agree that we will draft an LT anywhere from the bottom of the first through the 3rd where we have two picks.
========
Oh, you mean that we will draft an LT in the TOP TEN. That would mean the serious failure to sign a top starting LT in free agency.
=====
But, yes, if we fail in free agency, I could see us draft two LT's, one in the first and another in the 2nd or 3rd.

Even we sign a top OT who can start at LT or at RT, then I could see us draft a LT in the top ten, hopefully after trading down a bit.

At this point, whatever spot they get him at, they now HAVE to get him.
Not if we sign a top starting LT in free agency

That would be preferable. But, they are dropping like flies from being available. Even if we do get Stanley, we'll still need to find a truly solid young replacement for him within no more than 3 years and have them ready to step in (and that's if Stanley manages to stay healthy in that time). I do know this, we cannot have another Flustercluck of an OL like we had last year. I even looked back on scouting reports on Wallace, and most had RG as his best NFL position.

I don't understand why Jackson would sign a 3 year deal to play for a team that's shopping it's starting QB (and with no serious QB in the pipeline), and possibly be a FA when he's 29/30, when he could have gotten a 5 year deal from the Patriots and protect the blindside of a young and probable Franchise QB.
ROFL

Is the only consideration how great it would be to have Maye as QB and the great patriots' offense and team to play for?

To be clear, given the choice, I would stay with LA.

If he told them to screw last year what’s changed? He’s not going to come here. Metcalf is a better bet even though he said out loud what a lot of these guys are thinking, the weather sucks.

Drake Maye showing he has the potential to be an elite QB. Mike Vrabel replaced Jerod Mayo. Pretty much everything changed. The Pats are more attractive to a WR right now than Pittsburgh where he only wanted to go the last time.

With the FA targets all drying up at LT
Looks like then draft is where we will have to man that position
Yes I meant first round and think multiple rounds at G and possible C to round off the line

One advantage of Aiyuk is the next two years, he is only making $1.2 million base per season and $750 million a game roster bonus ($12.75 million a year max in roster bonuses).

He isn't my first choice, but he isn't a horrible option since the 49ers are eating his $23 million signing bonus.

We definitely need to address Center somewhere in the draft.

Josh conerly could be the steal of the draft . I am okay with them trading up and giving a 3rd rounder and possibly additional 4th next year to trade to say 25 or 26 where he might be available
As I recall, we had trouble trading into the first for one of the 8 top OT's. It was rumored that we were willing to give at least what you suggest.

I don't want either Deebo or Aiyuk, both damaged goods that 49ers are begging to get rid of.
Stop looking at names.

What happened to strange being extended to a 3-year contract to be our starting center? But sure, if a center is BPA available then we will draft him.

Aiyuk will only be 27 at the start of the season and is one year removed from a 1,342 yard and 7 TD season in 2023. He is coming off a torn ACL, but that is not an injury that is a major issue long term anymore. He could be back to 100% by training camp.

He had a crap season last year before he was injured, but so did the entire 49er offense. Not sure why they are willing to let him go, but they may be blowing things up.
