After reading the article, it absolutely sounded more like he wasn't happy with Vrabel, more than it was trying to prop-up the new guy. No thanks.
He will go to the Eagles or Chiefs to chase a ring.
His artificer doesn’t feel like a culture fit here.
But I reserve the right to be wrong and eat crow.

Possibly, there isn't another player more disappointed than butler was having sitting out the superbowl and he still came back to new England..

i'm not worried about stuff like that... those types of questions/answers are always out there when a new coach takes over... its a puff piece to talk Callahan up leading into the new season...

Its the reverse of what you got with the Gonzales comments about Mayo this past year...

So let's give up a high draft pick for one of the worst passers rushers in the league, who's getting old, has a bad contract, and doesn't like the coach. Sign me up.

In my view as a fan.. things seem like they are lining up for us.. Landry is the exact type of player we need at the LB position. Still only 28 and has had a productive career. He thrived under Vrabel. It feels like we should be in heavily on him.

I'd send a 4th, maybe a 3rd. Not too old yet (29), racks up around 10 sacks a year. Obviously knows Vrabel. Not really a "premium" guy but very solid, and they need that. His salary is a little high at $17M the next two years, which will keep some bidders away. Of course they could restructure that with an extension.
this is the type of guy BB used to hit on... Solid players... Maybe the dollars are a bit high, but i could care less about the money... RKK has saved enough cap dollars over the past few seasons that cap dollars should be the least of our concerns... worry about that two years down the road...

there is no crow to be eaten over footballs version of "hot stove talk"

I see you can't dislike your own post. While I agree with the sentiment, I don't approve of my snarkiness. We got enough of that in the world. My bad!

Landry would fill a big role here as a leader and thumper.. I believe Tavai is out just my thinking... he would be an upgrade over him next to Bentley.. he already knows Vrabel's defense.. a one gap, penetrative, physical defense is what we will have.

Vrabel knows the guy really well. So he will know whether it is worth acquiring him.

I don't know enough about the guy, but his sack production and knowledge of Vrabel's system may be worth pursuing. Obviously, Vrabel may not even be interested in him.

Id be 100% on it, but he did say this after vrabel was replaced. Not sure if it actually means anything or if he was just talking up the new guy.

I don't put much stock in comments like this. Many guys just say things like this even if they don't mean it. And many times when they do mean it, they eventually come to realize it was better the way they had it before the current regime.

Godchaux for Landry and a 1st

I think we should be in on all of these. Landry, Allen. kupp, Samuel.
It would be a smart way to use the huge cap space we have to bring in veteran players.

We have cap space simply because we don’t have enough veteran players taking a lot of it up. This is a want to accelerate the improvement of the team.
Exactly, they won't be able to assemble a talented and young roster at the same time. There's basically 0 talent on this team and if they want to win games which is important in a rebuilding, they need those talented veterans not too old (some undoubtedly will be on their last legs like Kupp for example).

It's very important for me to get Maye to get acclimated to win games, good QBs, franchise QBs win games, they close games, they don't lose games they are winning. Last year Maye (the team I mean) lost too many games due to lack of talent and lousy coaching, needs to fix that to not become the next Trevor Lawrence. A QB can still learn and improve on a lot of things while winning games.

Has done well for himself in Tenn... not great but well enough...

any interest? Flip the Judon 3rd? slight overpay really, but we could use another linebacker...
Hell no. This is a flip one of your 7ths, or a 6th + Landry for a 7th.

He's not worth pick frickin 77.
