2025 Draft: EDGE

This team has so many needs at so many places... I just can't justify using both 4 & 38 on one position, even if by some miracle this FO acquires a starting-caliber talent at both Left Tackle & Outside Receiver during the free agency period before the draft...
If FA goes well, they can bring in at 8 or more starters and depth pieces. Raise the floor of the roster.

I don't know, why not make a position group a strength? Carter-Sawyer-White would be a pretty strong DE group moving forward.

It all depends on how they evaluate the prospects value. If they grade Sawyer as a top 30 vs Ersery as a top 50 then yes select Sawyer. But if the difference between them is less than I'd choose Ersery.

True; but there are other fish in the sea too, so maybe one of Joyner, Rucker, Double-O etc on Day 3 for the double-dip and use a Day 2 pick on a 0/1-Tech instead...

Well if we're going that route, I'd rather go 3-tech at 38. good run stuffing DTs can be found on day 3 although Tyleik Williams might be an exception.

I haven’t seen much of any talk of Jalon Walker. He’s a bit undersized as an edge guy but is an absolute beast as a pass rusher and has the flexibility to play both inside and outside linebacker. Apparently has off the charts intangibles and leadership too.

I’m very intrigued by him. Can do an awful lot of things and seems a like a modern NFL defender who can do so many different things. Has a really high ceiling and might fit in Vrabel’s D better than Belichick’s, He’s projected to go in the 5-8 range so not really a reach at 4 even if a trade down would be perfect.

Would you double dip at EDGE @4 and 38? Let's say we have a LT and WR in free agency and Abdul Carter is on the board at 4. Would you draft a Jack Sawyer or Ezeiruaku at 38? Maybe even James Pierce (he didn't make it into DJ's first round mock), Scourton or Princely are on the board at 38 too.

Carter and Sawyer would make sense to me. You get the pure edge rusher and the stronger edge setter together, an edge setter that can rush the passer too. This would allow you to rotate them with Keion White who moves inside on passing downs.
well we need two edge rushers as it is right now pending free agency
