I’ll always love the 1996 “Jambalaya!” Super Bowl run. Loved that team. It’s the only AFC champions hat that I wear with pride. But yeah I remember Desmond Howard breaking our hearts. Hason Graham missing the tackle. Just wasn’t our night.

Jambalaya!
The Pats are gonna be on fire, they’ll be in the Super Bowl without Irving Fryar!

The things that kinda gives Mahomes a chance

1. Brady had that 10 year gap between wins which gives Mahomes some wiggle room, though less than people think because he won't have the same longevity.

2. Mahomes doesn't have a Peyton Manning to compete with for top seed in the conference.

Now that still means Mahomes is much less likely than not to reach Brady, but he still has a chance which is pretty incredible. Most guys fall WAY off pace to get close to Brady within like 5 years of their career. Having a fighting chance is still nuts.
The relevant point you are leaving out is that the Eagles will now be perennial Super Bowl contenders as long as Jalen Hurts and that nasty Eagles D-line stays together. Mahomes doesn't do well against top tier competition. He lost to Brady head to head twice and I have the feeling that Hurts has the measure of him now. Dude KNOWS he can beat Mahomes on the biggest stage now.

Brady's career spanned two dynasty's worth, he was able to reinvent himself and win with different team compositions and different rivals. Can Patrick Mahomes continue to adopt and evolve as he gets older or has he already hit the wall of what he can do and will end up getting beaten by Hurts and the like in big games now?

Because it's all pretty subjective and if I know a large part of the population thought one way in the past I don't think it's wrong to expect the same standards.

Sure one would hope people smarten up but that's not what's happening. People are forgetting Montana because he's not the lead anymore but without Brady these debates absolutely would be made.

Not to mention 4-2 > 4-0 but he's to get to 4 first.

All that and I think I could have just said a little devil's advocate can be a healthy thing for any debate.
I don’t get the approach of calling an argument stupid when it doesn’t support your position, then using the argument when it does.

In other words, you correctly argued that getting to a SB and losing is better than not getting there at all, when Montana apologists were arguing the opposite vs Brady.
Now you are using that argument against Mahomes, knowing it’s stupid. Extremely hypocritical and quite lame.

I read something that said he's a good headphones rapper. Like he's one of those guys you would want to concentrate on the lyrics and makes good points.

That said, I don't think that's the kind of performer you want at a Super Bowl halftime show to get people dancing in their seats.

I think the word your looking for to describe him is “cerebral”.

The thing about Mahomes 4th quarter “comeback” was the fact that the Eagles were letting them score just to drain the clock. They went soft at the end

And it clearly shows Mahomie fully beyond the line before he flips that backhand.

Strange there was no replay of that to see how close it was. And NFL Officiating HQ didn’t step in. Or maybe this is one of the plays they can’t automatically review.

I mean.... it's a pretty good thing for Mahomes if the other perennial Super Bowl contender is in the other conference. Imagine how different things would be if Brady had a Manningless AFC and was just gifted the 1 seed most years.

It's an interesting point but it feels like Brady dominated the Colts and Manning most of the years they went head to head.

Much as I don't like the Bills, Josh Allen and friends gave the Chiefs the hardest game outside of the Superbowl, 32-29 win by the score of a FG is not a gimme. I think they will still challenge Mahomes in the years to come.

Hopefully Maye enters the conversation soon, assuming we can build a good team around him.

What’s worrisome is history of repeated concussions. Olave being a young guy just makes the concern greater. As I understand them studies show each concussion lowers the threshold for future hits to cause the next concussions. So he’s already on a downhill run.
Well it that's the case then he should seriously consider walking away from the game.. that's why guaranteed money is so every important to players.

Should I start the Pats/Eagles Super Bowl GDT already for the game next year or nah

It wasn't just them though the Ravens were usually tough and won 1. We typically handled the Steelers too but there another 2. And Then Manning switched to Denver had a team that rivaled his colts. So far Mahomes comp is more on the level of Rivers' Chargers then the teams above. Of course he did have to deal with us too.

Brady had a better head to head in the regular season. But consider that 3 of our AFCCG losses were against his teams. Then you have things like 2005 and 2009 where the Colts got a higher seed and gave us a worse playoff path.

The Bills give the Chiefs good games, but when it matters, they always mess it up and give the Chiefs an easier path. The Bills had some stupid losses and as a result the Bills and Ravens need to cannibalize each other in the playoff and face the Chiefs on the road this year. Chiefs probably don't even make the SB this year if one of those teams can be serious and force them to play a road game.
