I was writing a new thread about high upside prospects but ended up giving up on it because it ended up largely repetitive with my usual prospects. However, I did find something I found quite interesting, namely how often a defensive line player gets a pressure, which I think is quite telling as to how productive they could be. I won't include everyone, just the ones that standout as being particularly special. If there's anyone you're interested that isn't included, please feel free to ask. Without going through them all, these appear to be the top of the pile.

Please bear in mind that these are total snaps, not just pass rush snaps.

EDGE

Abdul Carter - 11.1 snaps per pressure
Mike Green - 12.1
Jack Sawyer - 10.9
Bradyn Swinson - 10.6
Elijah Roberts - 11.8
Ashton Gillotte - 11.1
James Pearce Jnr - 8.4 !!!!!
Ahmed Hassanein - 11.8
Princely Umanmielen - 8.6 !!!!
Tyler Baron - 9.4
Josaiah Stewart - 11.8

DT

Derrick Harmon - 10.7
Ty Robinson - 14.2
Omar Norman-Lott - 8.3 !!!!!
Aeneas Peebles - 13.9
TJ Sanders - 14.1

The rest of the best DTs seem to be in the 15-17 range so the above are the ones that stood out to me. There is just one name you may want to hold in the back of your mind and that's Rene Konga of Louisville. It's a name I've not heard of and it's difficult to find anything that suggests he's a potential draft pick; no highlight video, no scouting reports and little on Twitter. He's 6-4, 290 so a draftable size and his score is an admirable 12.4. A name to bear in mind for UDFA perhaps.

I just checked Konga's stats. It might not be worth getting too excited. He only payed 263 snaps this season and only has 599 in his career so he's played as much in his career as most DTs do in a season. On this 263 snaps, he had 22 pressures but only two sacks and his PFF grades are fine (in the 70s for both run and pass rush) but not exceptional. Still, on very limited viewing he looks athletic with good burst and has the ideal size for a DT.

This was his first season at Louisville. His previous school? Rutgers

Great work,

Do you have that info on Kyle Kennard, Donovan EZ, Jordan Burch, and Antwan Powell Ryland? Sorry for creating Work, but if we miss Carter I am curious on other possible edges. Thanks in advance

I was gonna say do some of these numbers mean they aren't taking as many snaps?

On the DL, Konga and Norman-Lott had under 300 snaps. With the EDGE rushers, most had snaps into the 600/700 range although the three that did particularly well (Stewart, Baron, Umanmielen and James Pierce) had between 450-500 snaps.
