I mean, I'd agree with that, and that's where a ''''legendary'''' playcaller should be able to prepare the team and scheme around it.
Or when your defense is on the field the entire first quarter (I think it was like 12 minutes to 3), run the ball just to give your guys a rest, you can't get it all back at once.

No max protections, no playaction (because you didn't run the ball), no adjustments whatsoever. They did the exact same thing from the start of the game to the end.

Ya know, it's an interesting approach to sell out and stop the run. It didn't really do much for them. Belichick didn't _always_ take away your favorite player if it meant selling out. In fact, he would often let a guy "get their yards" and prioritize red zone defense and clamping down the rest of the field. Jones in SB51. Moreno in Denver, 2013. Etc.

I was asking before the game whether theyll move thuney back inside to deal with the 2 monsters and just take their chances with whoever at LT. Dunno if it would have made any difference, this was a really bad matchup for kc.

Jalen carter falling to their range in that 23 draft because of a pre draft incident was an insane break for philly. I would love if we follow the plan many of us want with carter or graham at 4 and another good dl falls to 38, pretty good chances as they say its a very deep draft at dl
Yes!! I even for a spilt second thought... could KC do what we did??.. 28-3?.. I quickly then realized our offense then was far superior to KCs offense. Yes, roseman did what any smart GM would do.. take the good players that are available to you.. also Laurie the owner is a realistic and practical thinking man he don't mind opening the check book.. remember in 2011 when the eagles had a super roster? He went all in back then too. But this futhers the case of I'm so happy to have Vrabel and people back in the organization that will do the right thing with the roster..the stack the LOS. Getting Carter or Graham at 4 heck even will Campbell at 4.. just makes all the sense. No analysts really knows nothing about the player's future. As Bill always said don't matter where your drafted it's what you do when you get here..

Your right. Even though the Patricia defenses drove us crazy with the zone defense bend but don't break.. they did clamp down in the red zone. KC was hell bent on Stopping saquon. It exposed other areas of thier defense.

Looks pretty healthy especially with basically no guarantees on Kelce's salary. With the expected 10-20M cap jump, they look like they can easily get to 50M cap. Not good for us since LT is a top priority for them. And they might like adding Higgins too. Really not good for us.
They will have their fair share of needs, and also have a lot of free agents coming due:

- Trey Smith (G)
- Justin Reid (S)
- Nick Bolton (LB)
- Charles Omenihu (EDGE)
- Kareem Hunt (RB)
- Hollywood Brown (WR)
- DeAndre Hopkins (WR)
- Mecole Hardman (WR)
- Juju Smith-Schuster (WR)

Among others. All of the above either need to be re-signed or replaced. Heck, I'd be just fine with NE signing several of these guys.

Edit: Actually kinda funny to think that such a huge chunk of their pass catching corps may turn over in a year. All of the above listed WRs, plus Justin Watson, are free agents, and Kelce is a retirement candidate. I think they've only really got Worthy, Rashee Rice coming off injury, and Skyy Moore at WR, and Noah Gray at TE.

KC may need to revamp thier WR corps. DeAndre, brown, and juju are all washed. I did not think all 3 would be this bad. Reid is a solid system player for KC.. I wouldn't mind having Bolton on our roster.. others are solid veterans nothing special..

Even JuJu again?

He was not one of the "several" lol. I was mostly looking at the defensive players, and perhaps Brown. Hunt looked good too, though I know he's probably a no-go for Kraft.

Yep hopefully we get to that point where we’re in a position to go bpa so when players like this fall we can pounce a la vince in 2004. This is the most efficient way to acquire talent

Yes big vince who could forget! Best DT we ever had in NE. I'm just a big proponent of solidify the trenches any way we can.. of course like you or any fan I want that guy at WR.. but rather then begging players to play here.. I'd rather go after kupp and Deebo, draft a WR and enter the season with a much better coaching staff, stout OL&DL.. and I can almost guarantee better results on the field. Also don't forget the Olave trade Scenario is still a real thing too.

I think we should try to get more of Zach Baun types rather than breaking bank for Higgins. Don't want to be hamstring when we need to resign a cornerstone player like gonzo or going all in when we have fewer holes to patch on. just elevate level of play by building a good middle class core and hoping for development from players on rookie contract.

I honestly would be okay if we rolled over 30 million to next year . And next year we should probably be able to come out of godchaux, Stevenson and dugger contracts if need be. If we feel dugger is not future , we might be better off going big on Holland.

Mahomes is taking all the heat today it looks like - and rightfully so, he wasn't good.

Andy Reid is getting a pass, and that's insane, this was prime 'Why Andy Reid got fired in Philadelphia' Andy Reid.

Team wasn't ready to play, playcalling was atrocious (nothing but deep routes, even after you knew your team couldn't block), and 7 called rushes for the game. 4 in the first half. No wonder Philadelphia got pressure with just 4, they were just pinning their ears back and rushing against an overwhelmed offensive line.

Never let it be forgotten, this is who Andy Reid is. Mahomes said he has to not revert to heroball, but Andy Reid went to Hero Playcalling. There's only so much blame Mahomes should take for that. And again, he was bad, but Reid can't get a pass for this one.
I gave him some crap last night. He's supposed to be the guy who unseats Bill lol. 3-3 and Bill handed him one of those losses. There is no way Andy wins another 3. I think at best he loses one more SB. Can Mahomes win one without him will then be the next question?

I think it might be over for them this will be tough to recover from and I don't think anyone appreciates how hard it was that Brady and Bill were able to reinvent themselves twice after the first dynasty.

Well said. Yep it's all about the trenches and Line of scrimmage for me. We are going to get game changers in my opinion by way of trade at WR. I'm all in all Deebo or kupp.. I'll take em both if possible. So many options exist.. also could strike a trade for Olave too.

Yup.. they've made it look easy (with a little help of course) over the years, but this might be a bit too much to overcome.

They'll still be in the mix and "contenders" I suppose, but I think the days of KC being the clear-cut favorite are over. They had a nice run, good for them.

The Eagles front 7 played how they were supposed to play the first meeting.

Why the hell was Thuney playing LT? What happened to that terrible rookie who’s name I’m not going to look up?

Eagles should’ve kicked their ass in 2022.

Also, not a good game by Spagnuolo who people wanted to anoint as the best ever.

I am thinking it would be prudent to really focus on building up the middle class through free agency and the draft this year. Don't necessarily need to blow $130M+ in cap this year on several premium guys, because you'll still have holes. Instead, spend $100M on 12+ solid starters, and between them and your draft picks, you can hopefully end up plugging almost all of your roster holes with competent players.

Will you be "excellent" anywhere besides CB and hopefully QB? Probably not, but a roster with a really good QB that's solid everywhere else, and plays smart football, can still be a playoff team. Then you are rolling over ~$30M into 2026, meaning they'd likely still have somewhere in the neighborhood of $70-80M in cap space that year to go ahead and target a few premium guys to take the next step.

Anyone notice Mahomes game has taken a dip? His mechanics and decision making are both off.

The lack of talent could be the hesitation on his end, but he’s getting sloppy with his throwing.

Interesting to think about what you could've done different: as I mentioned earlier, selling out to stop the run did nothing for them. Do you let Barkley eat his yards that he's just gonna get, and prioritize RZ/prevent big chunk passing?

Relying on Saquon from start to finish could actually tucker out that OL and Barkley a bit earlier, giving a wedge on the trenches. However, did the Chiefs have the personnel to do that? I dunno, I'm not a qualified coordinator lol.

Thuney was moved to LT midseason when they couldn’t get anything else to work out. Suamataia is the guy you’re thinking about.

Eagles def blew it in 2022. Hurts had a horrible turnover where he basically dropped the ball onto the turf for kc to run back for a td. Otherwise its a 17 pt lead minimum at half. Philly’s dc also got eviscerated in the 2nd half, fangio thankfully is a good dc. Though with the overwhelming dominance by the eagles dl not sure the last dc could’ve ruined it even.
