2025 Draft: EDGE

I do: Trade Down. Multiple times if possible. Use those Day 1 & 2 picks on LT, DE & DT. Then WR. Then CB & RB...
Quantity over quality is not really the way to success.

Agreed, that and the news that Hunter is adamant on being a full time wr/cb, an idea I hate, leads me to a question I don’t really have an answer to: do you draft hunter or trade that pick?
I'm not opposed to Hunter being a FT CB/WR on two conditions. Firstly that he demonstrates the capacity to pick up both playbooks, and secondly that he is spelled on the occasional drives which would mean having good rotational players to spell him. At least find out what he's capable of before limiting him.

I'm coming round to this strategy if Carter is off the board. The trade downs, not necessarily the positions.

If we were one or two pieces away I'd agree, but this whole roster needs a reboot and not every draft pick will hit so load up to ensure as many hit as possible. I ran a mock using FA signings and two trade downs in the first (and just for fun, a Milton trade too) and boy did the roster start to look like a fairly stacked one. Obviously things would never go so smoothly but there is good talent throughout this class that would be an excellent base to start building from. We clearly won't rebuild this club in one off-season but it could be the start we need.

My preferred options at 4 at this point:

1. Carter
2. Hunter
3= Graham
3= Two trade downs on the condition that we've signed a WR1 and LT in FA.

I would be disappointed if we drafted Tet or Campbell at 4. I could live with it but would feel like it was an opportunity lost.

And I'm already convinced Tennesee is taking Hunter.

So if Cleveland takes Carter then it's time to get on the phone.

The only selection I'm comfortable with taking at 4 in that scenario is Graham.

We need Talent EVERYWHERE, and on Both sides of the LOS.

What good is Carter when we can't stop the run or, worse, can't protect the QB long enough to score enough points to have a lead in the first place when we can most use his talents?

Where's our #1 AND #2 WRs coming from? Our 3rd-Down RB? Our 0/1-Tech DT? Our TWO Pass-Rushing DEs? Our #2 Outside CB? Our starting Free Safety?

I don't believe for even One Second that All of those needs can be filled through this FO's free agency attempts And the draft picks it currently holds. Therefore, the last best chance it will have to fill them is with the #4 overall pick and the value it can generate as a trade chip.

i agree we need talent everywhere, but when you have a premium pick like this, you have to nail it. What good is pick 20 players and they amount to nothing? They absolutely need to make this draft work. I rather have a pro bowler than 3 rotational guys.

By all accounts there's only 2 true blue chip prospects...Hunter and Carter. After that it's a crapshoot.
So if Ward and Sanders are picked in the Top 3, we will get a blue chip prospect. Better than two 2nd or 3rd rounders.
