Got it. Thank you for this. So he did get paid. He'd be a #2 option here. As I mentioned kupp and say DK or even Chris Olave completely changes everything.. pop in the slot, Gibson on 3rd down as the pass catching back. The entire offense would be much better. Defenses would be on thier heels.. and I haven't even brought up Drake and his abilities to run.
you gotta drop DK from that list... he's not coming here.

Well then I'm going on to my next guy.. Chris Olave.. (yeah, yeah, yeah..) I know about the head injury concern. But he's a young guy still on a rookie deal that could come here and connect with maye daye..

The other thing is that Cooper Kupp, or the 'shadow of' or 'ghost of' or whatever, is still better than everyone in the WR room. I would give up a late round pick and expect him to do a solid restructure, but I'd take a flier on him.

I wouldn't restructure the deal at all... let the rams pay... If they are floating it out there now, then they are desperate to move him and clear the cap space... Let them pay millions to make the deal work... Kupp gets his money, We get a receiver and Walmart Stan gets screwed... seems like a win/win to me

That's assuming they will eat it.

Hes in New Orleans on short dollars for next year, and they have a fifth year option (not sure when that decision has to be made, or if they already declined it) ... Is he in play?

tough to trade a 32 year old broken down wr with a thirty or forty million dollar contract (not sure how much the remainder of his deal is) if you are unwilling to eat some of that contract, wouldn't you think?

If he does decent on the physical, I think he'd be a terrific addition, on the field and off. Given the uncertainties of the draft and the urgency of the need, I'd overpay to get him in the house. Our WR room last year was an unmitigated disaster, again, both on the field and off.

Cap ramifications of a trade absolutely change post-6/1 for many contracts. AJ Brown is a prime example this year. If Philly trades him prior to 6/1 they take on an extra 13 million cap hit vs post 6/1 they save 7 million.
There is never any cap savings, only the pushing of some cap savings for the current year to the next year.

Joe Milton could be of interest to the Rams or Saints and others where he could help net us a play making WR,

Olave would be very interesting.

I just hope we don’t watch him light it up elsewhere.
I’d personally hold on to him and Maye for the just in case.

I thought this was interesting:
They're already speculating that Higgins will turn down overpayment here. If that's the case, the Pats need to think seriously about trading for Cooper as a trade takes the decision out of his hands.

thanks... i'm going to take that as a no... That means over pay, if the saints would be willing to deal with him
That article is actually from November. I believe he's still available for trade.. 3rd and a pick next season for Olave should do??.. it's also unfortunate that I can't even say we can draft a guy.. becuase we can't seem to do that.

I like the cooper idea.. but let me ask why do you think he was pretty lackluster in Buffalo? I thought he'd be better for them.

As Pape mentioned DK isn't coming here.. so why not go after a young phenomenon in Olave. Still on his rookie deal and can grow with Drake and be a presence for him on the outside.

My thoughts are the same.. becuase we know Drake gets outside the pocket and if he has to miss any amount of time we would be okay with JM3.. especially with McDaniels .

In this league id rather have a back plan at QB.
Now if you don’t value him as highly as other teams do and you can maximize your perceived value for him then I guess you make that trade.

Maye needs WR help, no question about it, but they need to be really smart about who they bring in. Names like Kupp and Diggs and Cooper sound good because of their past production, but if they have hit the cliff they could end up being a waste of $$$ and time.

I would rather see them stay away from the older WR’s and take a couple on Day 2 of the draft.
A 32 yo receiver struggling with injuries the past few years is going to learn EP...that's going to work out well. Somehow people forget all the star WR retreads that attempted the same and failed. IMO it would be a colossal mistake to pay $20m for past performances from years ago.

Also big no from me for trading Milton.
