Does he have a no-trade clause so that he can control where he goes?
Doesn't matter. No team is trading for a guy who says he won't play there. There's no protection for it and it wastes everyones time. A no trade clause is more about having the leverage to lock a team down so they are forced to negotiate an exit with you on your terms.

A team that trades for him is giving up a second or the equivalent of it. Nobody is doing that if they aren't 100% sure he's playing and all in on going there

Yup. It's pretty much a guarantee that the Pats can get either Graham or Carter at 4. So if pass rush is that big, we can either get one of them in their early 20's and have them locked down for 4 years on the cheap to build around and then when we have to decide on paying them they are still in their mid 20's OR we can trade it to pay top dollar for Garrett who will be 30 by the end of next season and hoping he's still elite by the time we have any chance to make runs

If they addressed DT 2x in free agency, say Reed and Odighizuwa then I could see taking Carter at #4. This would entirely alter their DL, and give them the ability to play any front they want, especially if Barmore were able to return full time. Pass rushing fronts if Carter, Barmore, Odigizuwa, and White, and run stuffing fronts with Godxchaux and Reed subbing in would give them one of the best units in football.

What do think of BJ Hill??

Three words: Dead Cap Hit.

His dead cap money is $36,216,220. The savings is $16,494,100. The Browns are over the cap $30 million. Deshaun's cap is $72,935,000 with $172,734,000 in dead money.

He is going nowhere. I just don't see how the Browns could do it.

Nah he barely Injured played most games very good player.
Unlike us the Chiefs and eagles drafted well is why they been in the superbowl last few seasons.. only draft we got was under BB girlfriends dress.

Here is another thought. Abdul Carter, age 21, on a 4 year contract $65,320,310 vs Myles Garrett, age 29, on a 3 year contract or $81million.

I take Carter and make him a building block for a new franchise.

Post more. You'll save some brain cells around here.

Love to have him, but it doesn’t make a ton of sense.

He’ll be 32 or so by the time this team (hopefully) is a legit playoff contender.

I don’t think Carter is making it to the Pats at this point

No shortcuts on rebuild. If he could somehow be had for a second then sure, but I would not do a large package to add a 29 year old player to a four win team.

We just need someone younger and stout at DT doesn't need to be an all pro..

I don’t think the players they add in free agency need to be All Pro’s, but most of them do need to be guys like Alaric Jackson, 26 year old who is a good starter. They can also add a guy like Jarran Reed DT who is older but can be a stop gap player while they build over the next couple of years. But their bigger investments need to be guys who can be foundational pieces for them, like Nick Bolton, Odighizuwa, Jackson, Baun etc..

title of the thread needs to be clarified:

Myles Garret requests trade to a Super Bowl contender

in other words, not to us.

It’s worse than it sounds - it’s not a savings of $16,494,10 if he’s traded, it’s additional cap charges above where they currently are. That $30m they’re over the cap becomes $46.5m. No way Cleveland can accommodate a trade of him this offseason.
