Brady vs Belichick: The Verdict

Status
Not open for further replies.
AND he has the Greatest player of all time a part time owner of a rival AFC team., Any other franchise wouldve tried to keep brady as part of their organization . How did the krafts not make Brady an offer is beyond me,
Could you imagine the hullabaloo if Kraft offered Brady the same sweetheart deal Mark Davis gave Brady for his ownership share? There would be Congressional hearings chaired by the ghost of Arlen Specter claiming the Patriots circumvented the salary cap all those years by practically giving Brady part ownership now.

Everything I said was factual. Unfortunately for you there are websites that compile data.

Product of a very easy schedule like I said. Nothing more, nothing less.

How did that awesome defense do against the Ravens? The first good offense they played all year...

8-0 not 9-0. Also Tom was doing no such thing and the defense was just a product of playing a very easy schedule up to that point. Nothing more.
You may want to rewatch those games because Tom was visibly upset almost every week that season after AB left. How many times did he throw the ball in the dirt out of anger because the WR’s messed up? He got to a point he just started laughing in disgust at his own players (N’Keal Harry mostly). It was actually pretty off character for him.

Nobody really matched up well with the Ravens that season until the Pats new HC devised a game plan to make Jackson strictly a passer - something he doesn’t want to do.

I can’t defend the week 17 game against the Dolphins game though. That was inexcusable.

The Pats D matched up well with the eventual Super Bowl champs in KC. If the Pats had an offense, they would’ve blocked KC again.

Tom Brady was only good due to the easy schedule he played…

See how stupid ^ that sounds?

Where I am now on such stuff.

It's Brady over Mahomes by a clear but not insurmountable margin, by which I mean I cannot exclude the possibility Mahomes could catch up. Tom has more SB wins, at two places, and a record of excellence over a remarkably long period. But still...

It's still Bill over Reid, but not by a hell of a lot, given Bill's pretty awful work, both as GM and as HC, over his last several years, and several real bonehead moves in regular season games and in at least one Superbowl. Then there are his near blindness to talent at certain positions, mostly but not entirely in his capacity as GM, his far-too-early write-off of Tom's abilities as Tom got older, his selfishly petulant and irresponsible mishandling of Mac Jones, and his unforgivably asinine decisions re more than a couple coaching hires,. I think it likely Andy will pass him by. I would not have expected that five or six years ago. The fact that no one in the NFL cares to hire Bill speaks not only to his age, but also to deficiencies which have been there if not all along, certainly for quite some time.

Bill vs. Tom.: Particularly given events subsequent to Tom's departure, you have to give the nod to Tom by - what? - 70% to 30%.

Pretty succinct answer to the age old question.

We’re talking about the 2019 defense remember?

Good against trash offenses which was almost their whole schedule. Got rolled by any good offense they played.

Top defense my ass.

2019 Patriot Defense: #1 in points allowed, #1 in fewest yards allowed, #1 in fewest plays allowed, #1 in lowest scoring percentage, 2nd most forced turnovers in the NFL, #1 in lowest QB Rating for opposing QB’s. 6th best sack percentage in the NFL and 6th most tackles for a loss. 6th fewest rushing yards, #1 in fewest rushing TD’s in the NFL.

All this ^ with an offense that ended the year 17th in points per drive.

You shouldn’t even be allowed to talk football. Your takes are embarrassingly bad.

Product of one of the easiest schedules in the league, just like I said more than once. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Suggesting a defense can rank #1 in every meaningful stat in the NFL based on strength of schedule is peak level stupidity.

The Dolphins played the same AFC East schedule and ranked dead last in the entire NFL.

You’re not bright, you’re also agenda driven… you’re silly.

A defense absolutely can rank high based on strength of schedule and what offenses they play. Case in point: 2019 Patriots.

I would think a #1 defense worthy of that moniker wouldn’t get their asses whipped by the Ravens, Texans, Derrick Henry and Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Cool so what was that nUmBER oNE dEfEnSe’s excuse against those Dolphins?

I’m afraid it’s not me that isn’t friends with the facts...
