Yea I hear the complaining will Vrabel and cronyism, so might as well as some nepotism again.I'm all for it just to piss of the nepocomplainers

He isMicah Parsons is a great player.
I can't believe for one second that you draft a player then when he comes to camp you discover he can't read. Sorry but that just would not happen. Now he may struggle with the play book for other reasons, but not being able to read can't be one of them.It also wouldn't surprise me to learn it was right on appropriate grade level all the way through his educational experience. His failure as a rookie receiver was dismal, but in the absence of reliable information indicating it was due to reading/cognitive problems, I'll assume it was due to other things. Perhaps a lack of effort? Immaturity? Not taking his responsibilities serious!y? Anyway, I think the reading problem reason is an excuse he doesn't deserve. Just my take...
It’s not an assumption that MacDaniels runs an EP offense. Feel free to name an OC who changed their system.

Going to the "prove a negative defense" huh? I suppose it's a good move, but doesn't address the underlying point that there is still a lot of pearl clutching that McDaniels is going to somehow ruin Maye's development which is 100% an assumption as it's fortune telling.
There are thousands of variables that could ruin Maye's development. He could get hooked on painkillers. His girlfriend could demand too much in a pre-nuptial causing him undue stress and anxiety. The Tibetan restaurant may run out of his favorite chicken momo.
AVP was supposed to ruin his development too if I recall correctly.
Your benevolence in waiting is noted, if not wasted.Get back to me when you can name an offensive coordinator who has changed from EP to a West Coast offense. I’m sure I’ll be waiting a while.
Felt bad for the guy.The Redskins had Dexter Manley, a defensive end who couldn’t read, and he thought England was where Canada is. Then again Jared Goff believes the sun rises in the west.

Conceding there isn't one IS the negative that therefore cannot be proven.
And regardless of protests to the contrary, it remains a prediction of the future that the end state is a foregone conclusion that this will "hurt" Maye in some way.
JMD has proven that he can handle an offense under a strong HC, he does not have the personality to be a HC. At the end of the day successful NFL coaches have a firm grasp of the X's and O's and they need to be able to hold their teams accountable via whatever means works for them. After learning about the details in Las Vegas, JMD's issue is that his personality does not translate to the players in a way that demands their respect. Where Mayo lost the locker room because he enabled individualized behavior, JMD loses the locker room by trying to hold players accountable in a way that turns the locker room against him. He doesn't have anything that commands respect; he is not a former player, he doesn't have the outsized personality of Parcels or the psy ops capability of BB. Vrabel, on the other hand, has at least two out of the three characteristics and likely learned a thing or two from BB on how to ensure players are not too comfortable in their place on the team.I've come around on McDaniels
Yeah, I do think he has problems, which I don't see going away (maybe he grew when away, who knows)
but given the hires around the league, given the staffs around... Even if his peak might be outclassed nowadays, his bottom is great. I would be surprised if Drake doesnt improve with him, as all QBs seemed to at their best with him in command
I think it's ulter bs that he wont be poached, as history is written by victors. If Maye flourishes, McD is not he 2 time HC that failed, he's the QB Guru who creates superstar QBs again (if he wants)
Anyway, let's get this season going already
Not disagreeing with anything, but social/leadership skills aren't that hard to learn if we are being honest. The players that worked under him disagree.Woohooo
Not looking outside the Patriots family again McDaniels is a myth with an overly complicated outdated system that has never developed an elite outside WR and that's sucked without Brady and don't give me Mac Jones, Mac Jones played about 5 good games.
Kraft hire.
Outside of Ocho Cinco and Joey Gallagher, what WR couldn't pick up the system?I don't love it. WR's have a hard time picking up his system...and this team has one of the worst WR rooms in the league.
The team needs new blood. Not just brining back old familiar guys.
Well, I guess we'll see how it works out...
For whatever reason JMD is like a number of other capable coaches who are good coordinators and failures as HC. My guess is that JMD spent a good deal of time and effort working on his leadership style between Denver and Las Vegas. There is a difference between being able to hold conversations in a social setting or leading in a corporate environment vs. owning the hearts and minds of NFL players. Best case for the Pats is that he settles in to become OC version of Steve Spagnuolo. Not disagreeing with anything, but social/leadership skills aren't that hard to learn if we are being honest.
