Can they tag him a 2nd time?? Did they tag chase as well? I'm not sure.. yes thier defense regressed big time.. they have 2 great edge rushers.. but they need upgrades to there front and secondary..

Yeah I believe they could use another tag for 2025, its a certain percentage higher but it still only comes to 26m. Chase is going to be on his 5th year option and if they extend him I don’t think the big money hits until 2026

Ok got it! Well if they franchise tee does he hold out in camp??

I suspect that he would simply sign the $26M tag in mid-July.
Love to have tee.. we just have so many holes to fill.. the surest way we get a guy is by trade. We have plenty of trade capital that teams would be interested in..

Trey Flowers and Deatrich Wise Jr.
Neither were Judon or Sweat caliber players. Flowers got paid a big contract but mostly couldn't stay healthy (just like most of his time with the Patriots since being drafted).

Do we even get Hunter? Being we are #4.. I'm leaning towards taking Carter at #4..
Carter is too small. He gets washed out in the run game. So he is a pass rush specialist. Not worth a top 5 pick in my opinion. Hunter would be on the field for both O and D, and Graham is a 3 down player.

Flowers had a couple of great years. His FA contract reflects he was as valuable as Judon and Sweat. Judon was benched this year - he has fallen off after a couple of good years.

Carter is best suited as a multi-purpose LB. I don't consider him as a true Edge. He only started playing Edge this past season. However, If he's 6'3 and 260, there have been players that size that have been successful on the Edge (Judon). He'd probably need a year in a Pro Weight training program. Even then, I like him better at OLB/ILB. He could be an even faster Hightower.

Don't get me wrong I'd take Hunter.. don't think he's coming to us though?.. Carter is smaller but has a huge first step is a nightmare in the run game... as a rookie he's currently better than anyone in our front 7... another thought I had was what do you think of a trade for Garrett in Cleveland?

A trade wastes a draft pick. I am hoping Vrabel and staff can draft well and I don't want to waste picks when we need players. Trade for Garrett and AJ Brown and we lose half our good draft picks.

That might not be a bad thing.

I only watched the one video of highlights so take it with a grain of salt but i think he is alot more then a pash rush specialist, in the right defense. If you are talking the traditional read and react, set a hard edge, limit big play Belichick defense then yeah he is a bad fit. What popped off the screen was even on run plays he is so fast, bendy, and smooth he just knived into the back field at will. The guy breaking down the film said he had the most TFL in college football and i can see that in an attacking defense. So it comes down to what kind of D Vrable wants to build and i am not familiar with his time in Tenn. If we had Flores i think Carter would be a must have as much as Graham. I'd be very happy with either.

Godwin or Hopkins in WR free agency
Stanley or Jackson for LT
HufAnga for safety help
Rasul Douglas CB
Tre greenlaw LB help

Abdul Carter - 1st round
Trey won Henderson - OSU RB 3rd ground or late 2nd round

Build the depth and upskill existing players with coaching .

If Josh comes i am hoping for a Edelman type of resurgence for Pop. We might not be world beaters but will be a tough physical team like the Titans under vrabel which is what we need now .

I'm in on everything else you mentioned..but.. Hopkins is washed... Godwin is coming off his 2nd consecutive major injury at 28..
