It's easy, and only takes a few moments.Until all said and done, I take anything Vrabel says about the coaching staff or front office with a grain of salt. He knows not to say anything to the media that might come back and bite him later, give the league reason to look into Rooney violations or .compromise his options.Vrabel said it would take weeks.
Vrabel said it would take weeks.
He likely had to choose between a sure thing and an easier transition for him and his family vs a potentially better option that he might not get. Then why did Tom Rees agree to become the Brownies' OC instead of ours...?
Didn’t he coach Maye in highschool?I wonder if McCown was always the target and they talked about a weeks of a search because they weren't sure when he was going to be available for an interview. Telling he is the first request.
He said it’d take weeks to build his whole staff. Which it will. It’ll take the course of this week to do a thorough OC and DC search and also comply with the Rooney Rule. Then they’ll need to do the QB Coach search which also requires compliance with its Rooney Rule. Then finally after that they can just fill out their staff as they see fit without any special rules, besides the fact that they can’t hire anyone off of any other team’s staff until January 20th or the day after they are knocked out of the playoffs, whichever comes second. Completing all of in an appropriately comprehensive manner will take at least 3-4 weeks to fill out the entire staff. However that’ll still be a big advantage over other teams who are still 1-2 weeks away from even hiring their HC.Vrabel said it would take weeks.
I did watch the interviewBased on Mikes tone when McDaniels was brought up it sounded like meh, and specifically mentioning coaches in the playoffs.
Whoever they are targeting was or is still in the playoffs.
I felt like it was a genuine yeah ok McDaniels sure.I did watch the interview
He did not sound excited
Could be as you said they are targeting someone else or after the fallout from the Rooney rule ordeal. They may be playing it coy to at least try and show the process is legit
He has had a grand total of 2 years coaching . Pass for now...I wonder if McCown was always the target and they talked about a weeks of a search because they weren't sure when he was going to be available for an interview. Telling he is the first request.
EDIT: I cannot find anyone legitimate reporting that the Pats requested to interview McCown. Not sure if it is true.

There are no absolutes in life. Sometimes discussions are just an exchange of ideas.
I imagine that he did that because he has run a full search and satisfy the Rooney rule. If he made it sound the decision was made I am sure the league office would have issue.Based on Mikes tone when McDaniels was brought up it sounded like meh, and specifically mentioning coaches in the playoffs.

Keith Carter from the JetsWonder if Vrabel attempts to get Mike Munchak to come and coach the O-line, not sure what everyone thought of Scott peters this season but thought Munchak would be an upgrade, anyone have any other suggestions with regards to O-line coaches?
Vrabel, I think will be calculated in his decisions. Its the Krafts that rush everythingWeeks?!? What about the "head start" advantage we're supposed to have with the Vrabel hire?
That be interesting.Keith Carter from the Jets
New coach there will probably clean house
He was Vrabels OLine coach in Tenn for 4 years
What makes you say that? Do you know the Krafts or Vrabel personally?Vrabel, I think will be calculated in his decisions. Its the Krafts that rush everything
