Carter
White
Barmore
Gonzalez

I expect the pats defense to rebound next season. Vrabel's success in year 1 will come down to whether they can add enough pieces in year 1 to be average offensively.
Depends on who the DC is and what kind of scheme they run. Assuming it’s a similar scheme, I could see them keeping as starters:

Barmore, White, Bentley, Jennings, Gonzo, M.Jones, Peppers

Barmore is iffy due to illness. I can see an argument for keeping Kyle Dugger as well if they think they can make him back into the Swiss Army knife that Bill used him as, but they’d need to get a good true free safety in the mix first. Godchaux probably also makes sense to keep for some beef but he could be upgraded.

I’d go Abdul Carter at 4 if he’s there.

Keeping Wolf and bringing in Cowden is just asking for disfunction, what have Wolf and Groh done that makes them worth risking that for?

If Vrabel is bringing in Cowden what's the point of having the other 2? Makes no sense.
I’m not so sure you want a guy who has proven nothing draft wise (Cowden) on your personal staff, but it’s a done deal already.

It was a last ditch effort by Kraft to prove his relevance last year, it failed. Back at square one with his tail between his legs. It is absolutely time for him to advocate the crown and let the gimp prove his worth.

LMFAO, Krafty Bob's desire to 'advocate' the crown with 'The Dynasty' is what got his ass so ridiculed this past year.
Quite the Freudian slip there @vicspats

You want to draft defense when you have the worst receivers in the nfl and one of the most boring offenses in nfl history these past two years? What’s your plan to equip and invest in our franchise rookie QB or do you expect him to do everything on his own like Brady?

What’s your point?

Other than trying to take the title for the most miserable poster on this site I’m not really sure what your problem is? You didn’t get your way, deal with it.

My point is is that when you suck at your job you get fired.

I don't have a problem. I'm not the one defending Wolf.

While I hope for a lot of player movement, I’ll be interested to see if Vrabel can get the D back on track. As some posters have commented, there is a chance that some of the players that have been productive in the past could benefit from a change / accountability / a fresh look.

Would be nice, for instance, to see a Chung-like transformation in Duggar…

It feels like we had the #1 overall pick and passed on the #1 overall prospect.

And sometimes that's actually the right move (Mario Williams vs Reggie Bush).

I leaned Johnson but I'm all in on Vrabel now. I was going to be happy either way and so I am. LFG!

We saw what he looked like with tannehill

Yes I don't think anyone's going to argue that Drake Maye is a massive upgrade to Tannenhill.

But where are they going to get a top five of all-time running back in his prime?

The problem I have with this is that I hope we're not picking this high the year after. We hadn't picked this high (last 2 yrs) since 1993. These opportunities will hopefully be rare. Do you trust this personnel office with what will hopefully be the last time we do this?
We COULD be picking this high again next year, if we lost our last game and could have gotten another bad team’s 2026 #1 as part of a trade down.

Why is it a Sham?
They fulfilled minority requirements.
They interviewed the second best option on the market.
None of the 3 turned out to be better candidates than Vrabel.
They even asked to interview another hot candidate and were declined.
That seems like a real process to me and not just some internal promotion like last year.
correct. Last year the job was "contractual ".. who do you like for DC??

I hear that. But, in his hoped upward trajectory, if Maye - in year 2 - is as good as prime Tanehill, I’d be plenty happy.

If he does eventually exceed that point, I’d be disappointed. As you suggest.

A year late but I believe it’ll be worth the wait….

My comparison was in regards to Vrabel and his success as a coach.

There is no doubt Maye will surpass the best years Tannenhill ever had.

I don't see that as question at all personally.

I think someone on Wikipedia has jumped the gun. They already have Ryan Cowden's page listing him as a "front office advisor" for the Patriots.

Looks like that was just edited a few minutes ago based upon Wikipedia edit history.

What if the Pats sign Tee Higgins and say Davante Adams if the Jets release him like many expect them to do? Then do they need to draft a WR #1? Is Tet that good that you cannot pass them up for potentially Micah Parson 2.0?

There are options in free agency to fix the Pats' passing game. They have to be favorites for Higgins at this point.

To say I am thrilled is a understatement
Like Drake at least we have the feeling of hope with Vrabes
We will see how it turns out but I feel good about it
Glad it’s over
The last few days waiting for info brought flashbacks of the time I waited for Jenny to answer my call
Maybe you got the wrong area code?

But the number is 867-5309.

Pretty sure.

It was on the wall in the restroom and a bit smeared.
