That too can be a possibility. What I look at is how polk was with the first team offense majority of camp. He and the qbs had great connection. Then the regular season started and he lost his way. It's far to early to give up on him.

Javon Baker was looking good early in TC too: then lost then lost it at the end. IF our next HC can't get something out of either then they Suck!!

Polk was drafted too high. OK.

Polk was judged by almost all but posters here as a late second to mid-third round value.

As with almost all WR's, he needed a year of solid coaching. He didn't get it.

So, perhaps the evaluations were too high, perhaps her is a 4th round talent.

I have full confidence Vrabel/McDaniels could get the talent out of him. I like Ben Johnson as well..but when I think of all things patriots I think of Vrabel.

So no-one really considered Polk a Day 1 starter.

Any decent HC candidate will get rid of Glazer, Wolf, Covington, and AVP. Lots of people will now feel badly so they will start to say that maybe we can find a job at a lower level for these employees. I expect that the Krafts will reassign Glazer, otherwise everyone has to go. Leaving includes not listening to anything they previously said.

If you read my post, you will find that I said I believe the Krafts will reassign Glazer to a different Kraft compnay management position, not the HC.

Also there is no fixed structure in NFL franchises, the owners can structure their business in any way they wish. McVay in LA is the HC and controls the GM function, Shanahan in San Fran is the HC and controls the GM function. If Vrabel accepts the Patriots HC job, he will bring a GM with him that he will control. Lots of HCs have control over GM functions. Possibly there are more checks and balances with ownership than BB had at the hieght of his power, but still HC's commonly have control over more than their coaching staff.
